Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Neither, just cancel the game. I have no desire to watch Kellie continue to pad UConn's record against Tennessee....
Darth, I don’t usually respond to your posts, for my own reasons. But to insinuate that UT could not defeat Uconn this year or last on any given day is way past being a curmudgeon, it’s just trolling.

When UT went to Staples and played a tight game with Stanford earlier this year, did that not show you the ability of UT to play with any team at any venue this season? You never give credit to the LV’s when they show out in big games, and they may have started slow this year but that Stanford game pretty much showed the nation that UT is able to compete with anyone and getting better by each week.

Jackson and Jordy are two of the best players in women’s college basketball, and they are both on the UT team. UT is capable of beating any team in this country and I believe they are just getting started. Have some faith in your team man.

I actually think Darth is a LV fan, but somewhat like a Gaetz or Boebert in the GOP group, they relish attention more so than unity. He has found his niche here being the negavol guy…it’s what has given him some level of notoriety on this board. Don’t expect him to change course as long as he has that attention.

You will understand him better when UT begins winning more regularly this season, especially against better teams, which I believe is starting to happen this season now that the lineup is getting adjusted properly. This is when he will go quiet. Next season I believe will be a much bigger challenge for UT fans based upon roster stuff, and that is when he will surface in his almighty glory of the top instigator looking for attention once again.

Its the classic case of the “I told you so guy” who lives in the realm of yesterdays news and always looking for relevance as a “smart” guy. Let him try to predict the rest of this season, you know, the future of this team this year, let’s see how that pans out for such a smart guy who always has a glass half empty. Last time I ever respond or text about his bs. LV’s we’re close to beating Stanford at Maples, after all of the **** they had to go through early this season, and they are capable of beating any team this year.

SC and Uconn agreed mutually to cancel the game. Not sure how that figures in, but SC was not dodging Uconn obviously or vice versa, it had to do with previous cancelled Conference games due to Covid stuff and SC deemed the SEC game more important, as it was for them, because it may have decided the regular season champion.

Listen, it isn’t always about a team or teams trying to duck out of a game, sometimes the situation calls for a decision on what is more important to a team or both teams. SC would have loved to play Uconn last year, it was not in the best interest of their goal to secure an SEC regular season championship, as they would not have been able to make up a lost conference game. Uconn was needing similar help with the schedule at that time.

I am all for rescheduling games when possible, the Covid crap forced many teams to make hard choices.

I wasn’t suggesting anyone was ducking anyone. Only making the point that they were able to cancel nonconference games without negative affects. Not sure what would’ve happened in a situation where one team wants to play and the other does not. However, I imagine a lot would have to do with courtesy, and the fact that they do not have to schedule each other in the future, coaches probably want to keep mutual respect for future considerations

Isn't the prevailing mood these days that wins are all that matters regardless of how they obtained?
I don’t think so Creek. There is still some semblance of sportsmanship in WBB, and tbh, any fan base worth its salt would rather see a reschedule against two great teams than a forfeit under less than ideal circumstances.

Well that's a lie. While I'm generally content to ignore your sycophantic peacocking, you respond to me all the time. In fact, the post you reference originated from your response to one of my posts.

You never give credit to the LV’s when they show out in big games,

And what big games have they won this season? It's hilarious to me how some are trying to make unranked Alabama and MSU at home into tremendous wins on the resume.

I guess we'll see if I'm right won't we? I'm sure you will be here to respond either way. The fact is Tennessee has beaten no one of significance this season and Kellie is 0-3 against Geno since the "rivalry" resumed, and only one of those contests was close. I think the "believe it when I see it" is more than a fair approach at this point.

But I do appreciate the great effort you put into editing your posts to me over and over, reminds me of someone else I used to know...

UT is not Darth’s team. Darth is a Vandy fan.

BS, predict the rest of the story for this version of the LV team then ”Garth”….I will state my thoughts right now, LV’s will finish 3rd in the SEC and collect enough wins to gain a nice seating in the tourney where they will be ready to make a run, perhaps/likely final 16 and even a chance at final 8.

What team would want to play against a Jordy/Rikea led team in the tourney? Hell, with Jordy and Jackson anything is possible this year. How many teams have two top 5 picks in their lineup?

No team wants a forfeit. If any coach accepts a forfeit if there are any other means available, they do not get my respect. UConn wants to play Tennessee; Tennessee wants to play UConn. UConn wants to play SC; SC wants to play UConn. I would also surmise that if SC and Tennessee were not in the same conference, then they still would want to play each other. Schools at this level, as well as the coaches, want this kind of schedule. I know most fans want to see these games, so I would think that no Tennessee fans would want to beat UConn, or anyone else by forfeit. The players sure want to play, as they all are competitors and know each other. They've grown up playing against each other in AAU, and some of them have been teammates on USA basketball. They were friends before they decided where to go to school. They want to play, for fun, for bragging rights, for the fans of their adopted school. Nobody wins in a forfeit. We as fans look forward to playing the best out there, and if you want any proof, see how many people show up at TB Arena when UConn comes to town. Whether we like each other or not, I think the respect for each other is what make games between these teams great.

Nice seating? You mean they will be sitting in the stands? Try a couple more edits and let me know when your final draft is ready. Although I must admit, taking a team with "two top 5 picks" all the way to third in the SEC and the Sweet 16 is a pretty strong argument for Kellie as a coach...

I am glad you think so but i just know he bleeds Black and Gold 😂 you not convincing me otherwise ...

Really nice win for Oklahoma State! Texas made a push but they fended them off. Got a little help from the zebras. Hardly see a carry called, let alone two in a half.
