North Carolina? Really?

Meh.

What I DON'T like is having teams play-in for the 11th seed.

THe play in games should be for the 16 seed in all cases. Saying a team is in the top 44 but not the top 64 always causes my engineer brain problems ha ha.
The problem with 16's playing, most often they are an AQ. They shouldn't have to "play in" to get in.

FWIW:

UNC was 22-13, 13 and 7 in conference, 36 in the NET, 1-12 in Quad 1 games. 8-0 in quad 2 (undefeated in quad 3 & 4)
WVU was 19-13, 10-10 in conference, 51 in the NET, 6-10 in Quad 1 games, 4-3 in quad 2 (undefeated in quad 3 & 4)

The bubble teams should be in the play-in games, not the 16 seeds who AQed.

It shouldn't matter than Saint Francis is 311th in the country in KenPom; they won their conference tournament, and the rules say they automatically get in. They didn't barely get in. They should go straight into the field of 64, and non-AQ bubble teams who barely scraped in should be in the play-in games.

I love the "but UNC played a harder schedule" argument. Yeah...and they lost to almost every single good team they played, unlike West Virginia.

UNC's best win was against who...UCLA? Who is a 7 seed. West Virginia beat Gonzaga, Arizona, Kansas, and Iowa St.

UNC has become irrelevant in men's college basketball. It looks like their AD is hoping that the team can have a Cinderela run catapulting them back into relevance.

They are far from irrelevant in terms of their brand. It's why they got in the tournament. They played for the title just 3 years ago.

When you get down to the last four to six teams, it’s splitting hairs. They’re all flawed and if they’d played better, any one of them would be comfortably in the field. Don’t want to be on the bubble? Make a better case.

Not to mention West Virginia lost their first round Big 12 tournament game to last place Colorado. (Not that I really care who the best 68th team in America is, lol). 😂

So??

Play around with your seedings then.

I'm sorry, but does it really bloody matter if Saint Francis (or whoever) is the 16th seed or the 11th seed? They aren't going to win the tournament. If they win a single game either way, they will be the biggest story of the weekend.

Just making things difficult for the sake of doing so.

So a conference champion shouldn’t have to still “play in” to the tournament. That’s dumb

I agree. I really don't care if a champion or AQ has to play one of the opening games. I really and truly don't.

Your response confused me as I thought you were anti champions playing so I had to edit lol

Honestly the school admins may prefer it that way. Every eyeball is on Saint Francis and Alabama St. right now. They played Thursday and everybody else would be watching bigger schools. Gets them more exposure.

Did I say that? Nope

I said just make Saint Francis the 11th seed and let UNC play whoever for the 16th seed.

Does it really matter if Saint Francis is seeded 16th or 11th? Nope. 98% chance they are gone after Thursday either way.

You can probably pick the ultimate winner of the tourney in five guesses and Saint Francis ain't it
You said so? I explained the so. It's that simple
