I saw this as a young kid on TV (not at the movies). It came out in '79. I guess because it was a football movie, I never forgot about it. For all of these years, I thought it was Robert Redford playing the lead role. Finally, the other day, I googled football movies and came across it. Instead of Redford, it has Nick Nolte so I purchased it from Amazon. In the last game, it shows a back receiving the pass, pulls a hamstring and then gets laid out. All of these years, I thought it was Nolte's character but it was not.
Read a little about the movie and what I read said that it was partly based on some Dallas football players at the time.
