... I was begging for him after the first quarter of yesterday's game. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Worley is the right man for the job. (Even though I do think he could be half decent in a pro-style offense) But after seeing how bad Peterman played, I was literally begging for Worley. I know it wasn't all Peterman's fault. Our supposed top 5 in the nation o-line looked terrible, our running game was non-existent and our receivers are young and couldn't get open. But when Worley came in for the second half we actually saw some ball movement and better decisions being made. HOPEFULLY, the idea of Worley losing his job to a freshman (redshirt or true) will light a fire under his butt to get it together.

At this point in time, Worley is much better than Peterman. Still would like to see the two freshman play a few downs. I am not much on red shirts !!! If they are a good as advertised , they will not be around for four years anyway.

I have to admit Worley did impress me a little bit against Florida. He showed some maturity and poise and made some good throws. He had his mistakes but UF's D-line is legit tough. He is our best shot at winning.

This was the first game he did not look like a deer in the headlights IMO.
I think Butch talked his cage and he got pissed about sucking and getting benched for a FR. He's got talent, but maybe not the right fit for the system.
Here's to hoping Justin turned the corner Saturday. Here's to seeing him get better each week, help us get at least 1 upset and win what we are supposed to.
I felt better watching him lead decisively. Loved seeing him lead us down for that score and then get in AJs face encouraging him and the D to get a stop.
It's a process.

I believe we will see a different Worley the rest of the way. I think he showed progress Saturday when he came in.

Coach Jones came in with the zone read as his offense of preference. I realize that offense may also be a recruiting tool to sell to fast players, but I gotta ask the question....Was it a mistake not to run a pro-style offense this season and switch to the zone read in a season or maybe 2 when he has the roster to make it work?

Worley has potential to be a good QB here, he just needs to get some confidence in his own ability to throw the ball when he needs to. I think he worries so much about not making turnovers that he is gunshy about letting out his inner gunslinger. He needs to realize that sometimes a QB has to make that throw into tight spaces, especially when things look bleak.

Careful now, some of the goobers will call you Worley's brother or Dad.

Why would he switch for one year"or two? We have 4 pro style qb's on the roster, and I dont think he is recruiting a dual threat qb.. he should of recruited one last year...

Gotta remember, CBJ came in late to the recruiting game. And he has enough time to work Dobbs and Ferg into dual threat players.

Plus plenty of time on the recruiting trail this year to snag another.

Volnation was screaming for the next QB and CBJ served him up. Now you know why Worley won the starting nod to begin the season.

While Worley has by no means been spetacular, he also hasn't been a disaster. Without the 4 first half turn overs, we're leading at half time with all the momentum and probably win that game.

Moral of the story - be careful what you wish for...you might just get it.

Butch did the right thing starting Peterman who turned out could not do the job. Now which red shirt QB do you burn because we still do not have a QB who can get us a win in the SEC.

Keep telling yourself that bigdaddy. CBJ has said all along the QB that best manages the game and minimizes mistakes would start. If Worley had continued the same level of play of the 1st 3 games, then Saturday would have been a ballgame instead of the debacle it turned out to be.

Hindsight is 20/20. That's all I'm saying. He still would have to play behind the worlds most overrated O line

If CBJ put Peterman in due to "Volnation screaming", then we have bigger issues than I thought.

But but but, I'm a fan and buy a ticket so he should listen to me

That is the one thing Ill say Kiffin did with Crompton. He didn't wilt under pressure and take Crompton out for Stephens like so many wanted even though Crompton was bad. He just changed to what Crompton could do well and it worked out. Fulmer on other hand tried to appease fans pulling Crompton for Stephens and we lose to Wyoming. So I think that trusting the coaching staff is important unless coaching staff trust fan base then bad things happen.

Justin Worley gives us the best chance to win this year.

This offense is just so alien to me. It's one that I think a Shuler, Holloway, or Streeter would excell in. On the filp side Manning, Clausen, and Ainge would suc in this system.

I still hope Butch recruits a QB for 2014, as in the dual threat type. The kid that came in for Florida may have had more athletic ability than any QB we have on the roster.
