this is one of those games that could catapult us into national relevance come February in recruiting season. This IMO is the most important game left on our schedule other then Vandy (We just cant lose to them on our home field).

Hear my out : If we lose this game the way mizzou has played lately (Franklin more thne likely will be back when we play) , were looking at a 5 to maybe 6 win season.

If Neyland can rock the frieken city like the 90s and somehow we close the deal and get the elusive "signature win" we head into the second half of our schedule with confidence - and maybe keep it a 2 TD spread in Tuscawhocares.

Have a good rest of the week VN -> Saturday is ours.

This is the last shot at a signature win. Neyland needs to get behind Butch come saturday. Imagine the buzz around the country all evening if "it" happens.

Totally agree. Before the season I felt like uga and usc were the 2 most important games. I really felt like we'd be better than Vandy or UK. Ua and mizz were going to be toss ups. But for recruiting and such... This is the most important game left. And it's completely winable.

This is a must win as far as truly turning the corner goes for this season. What I mean by that is then this staff can hang their hat on a win against a ranked team. This will silence some of their critics (not all by any means, this is VN after all), and will show steady progress from where they left off from the Georgia game.
A bad loss, on the other hand, will be viewed as a step backwards and as more of the same.

The injury prognosis for Franklin has been revised slightly. He is expected to "be out three to five weeks while recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered against Georgia on Saturday, Tigers coach Gary Pinkel said Monday" (Missouri QB James Franklin out 3-5 weeks with shoulder injury - NFL.com).

Even if he is out only three weeks, I would assume that he will miss our game. "Missouri faces Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee over the next three weeks, all SEC East games that will determine whether the Tigers can remain atop the race in the division. If Franklin is out for five weeks, he could return in time for a road game at Ole Miss on Nov. 23."

It will be a nice win, for sure. Regarding the national buzz...how much buzz there when Utah beat #5 Stanford? Not much.

I have been eyeing this game since before the season started. I have always felt that this was CBJ's best chance to get a signature win this season! "Must win" may be a bit strong but it's pretty darn important.

This could be the turning point, the game we all look back on and say, that's the game we started our rise to the top..... Agree with OP, not a "must" win, but it's a big one.

You're already nationally relevant on the recruiting front. Winning or losing this game won't change that. UT has everything to gain and nothing to lose in its next three games.

Amen to that. This game won't hurt him, unless we get spanked, but can go a long way to helping him add to his success to date.

Exactly. The only way any of these games can hurt him IMO is if he shows Dooley-esque symptoms and the team quits on him. Personally, I don't see that happening.
