a lot was made of TN getting beat Saturday...and because of that, i kind of pissed me off, but at the same time, i was still happy to have been on this ride of a season...it's been a lot of fun.

But low and behold, after yesterday, i find myself thinking this isn't bad at all. We have plenty of company to join us to watch the rest of the tourney....

So TN fans, move over and welcome to the couch:

Michigan St--4 seniors who played in the Final Four a year ago mind you...need some dip?
Kansas--nice run at the end, we'll make room for you on the end of the couch.
UNC--great freshman, good young team....but sit here on the floor please.
Pitt--uh, that was awful. you will stand behind the couch for the rest of the tourney
KY--tough draw with Uconn, good effort. you get the recliner.
Iowa--see Pitt.
MD--you can stand on the porch for being a #1 in the NIT and getting beat at home by #16 manhattan. Matter of fact, you can only listen to the rest of the tourney on the radio, you don't deserve to watch.
Syarcuse--congrats on the Big East Championship, want some chips?
Illinois--man, i bet you guys wished you'd of won it last year...have a coke and smile.
Ohio St--stay away from Illinois OK?

this basketball thing is fun.

yeah, as those other teasm started losing, i was like, well at least we aren't alone, and we weren't even supposed to be invited....it's like the nerd finally getting invited to the cool party. You don't have to be the hit of the party, just make sure you're there, and that you'd be remembered. Mission accomplished.

I'm still recovering from this weekend. UT na dUNC losing back to back was more than I could stomach.

yeah, i'm not a huge Carolina fan or anything, but living in Charlotte, i like them better than the other tobacco road schools i guess....coures i wasn't all broken up that they lost either....

i guess now i'm rooting for LSwho and Memphis...

I'm rooting for Wichita State now. Or George Mason. Bascially, whoever wins that game since they outed both of my schools.

I can't root for Tiger High.

UT was in position and lost out at end of game with no inside game. Been the crutch all season but the team did great with Pearl's schemes to get around that. It caught up to us in the end. I too felt better after the some of the biggies got pushed out by some of the same lower seeded teams. Fun to watch them all year. Hadn't seen that much UT ball ever. Great job Pearl!

"Tennessee basketball is here. We will be in this tournament again, and I'm very appreciative to these guys for getting the ball rolling."
-Bruce Pearl

Word for word, my sentiments exactly. What a year.

Only problem is that now the warm glow of a fine basketball season fades into the reality that there are 166 days 'til football.
And the only thing between now and then are QB and Coach threads that will have nothing new to offer until September.

ticktock ticktock....

Well, we have our men's baseball team to follow. They didn't have such a great sec opener though. One rain out and 2 losses. Still a long season ahead of them.
