All is well once again in Aggieland. Sort of. It seems that the Big 12 will take another twist and turn filled with long lasting controversy that might eventually result in heads rolling down a hill and back to former pastures. Just kidding Bama backers. I know yall dont want Coach Fran back. In short, heres is the news. The AD, Bill Byrne (not related to Mr. Burns from the Simpsons) fired what is inevitably a non-component. Fran still walks proudly through the streets while his PERSONAL assistant who TYPED the letters got the ax. Fair? We'll see. The "end of the year evaluation" however WILL have this under consideration. Now aTm is not free from scrutiny much like their Big 12 counterparts. We can no longer look at the others and say, "Oh yeah, well at least we dont (fill in the blank). Now is a time in which winning means a little more for Fran. With a high powered Offence waiting for them in that dust bowl, of a school in Lubbock, the Ags are up against it. Leading the South is great but a loss to TECH will not bode well for the man who has had at least 5 years to bring them to the top of the confrence. In short, its do or die, much like it ALWAYS is with aggie fans. Failure however, now takes on severe consequences. Your thoughts if you care? If not ...Gig em Aggies, Rock on Rocky Top, and cry Tebow cry. Ags by 10, Vols by 25 this weekend.

This made me realize that ..."It's NCAA Bowl Subdivision Football! It's the Big Twelve".. just never would've had any staying power...

Insanity. There may be a mutiny at A&M at the end of the season.

If we beat Texas, all is well. Much like it was last year, that game ultimitly determines the fate of any coach at aTm. However, a loss to tech, a loss to Texas, and enivetable loss to OU and we might see a "Courtmarshall" for sure.

Franchione is done. Period. The fact Byrne hasn't fired him already indicates that the Aggie AD could use a testicular transplant. He was slime at TCU. He was slime at Alabama. He's slime now. One would think the administrators in College Station might be able to detect a trend.

your a little harsh hat, but typically I agree with you. On this one, I think the best I can do is meet you half way. Its true that Fran was not well liked at either of his previous head coaching positions. He certainly did not earn the respect of the bama backers in T-town. He has yet to completely reach that point of admiration in the CS. He is out and about, but you can tell he's gaurded. I dont think he's ever truly been comfortable. He's just kinda "there" and it draws him to this rouge type behavior. On to Byrne though. Bill Byrne has done some great things at aTm. He kept the 12 man foundation satisfied (as much as they can be) during some transition periods. He did however, lose Billy G. to Kentucky, but they could offer horse tracks and chicks in blue skirts. Maroon was never really Billy's favorite color. Now he's playing, janitor to Fran's mess and doing a good job of it as far as the PR dept is concerned. Losing to Texas, as I said wont be good, but honestly, Byrne (regardless of his "manhood" status in your eyes) is doing all he can. Fran is the issue, but he aint going anywhere, (pending the sip game).
