Before I get into my post, i will state that I was a MASSIVE supporter of Dooley. Everyone's opinion that Dooley couldnt coach seemed like a over reaction to me. It seemed like a reaction that an UT fan of less than 5 years would have. As a long time UT fan, another coaching change was the last thing I wanted to see....
And then today happened.....
You have the most talented QB, possibly in the country, you have 49 seconds left with 2 TO left in the fourth quarter and you simply let the clock run out?
What did I just see?
To me, coaching in like playing blackjack. You can have your own method, but for the sake of everyone else around you, please be consistant. You cant let the clock run out and then fake a FG in OT.
Ill say it again. When i woke up this morning, I thought ANOTHER coaching change at UT would be the worse thing the program could do. I thought it would set the program back even further. After today, it became apparent to me that a coaching change will do nothing but increase our ability to win football games.
I will never "bash" anyone employeed/enrolled at UT. The program I love, but now its clear to me that the best thing for our football program is to hire a football coach that realizes that were not the team we had 3 years ago. We are no longer putting inferior talent of the fields when it comes to teams like Mizzou.
Its time for a change.
