Not sold on Butch nor Dobbs

you do realize that Dobbs would have thrown for two touchdowns if North and Smith catch those two deep balls?

you do realize Dobbs would have thrown for 4 interceptions had Missouri's DB's not dropped two balls that hit them between the numbers? Hope he gets a lot better really fast or Auburn and Vandy will pound us.

You are correct on Butch. Those schemes on both sides of the ball tonight were horrible. Most teams that run the read option use it to slow down the front 7 of the defense. Instead we set up the QB and RB so the defense could tee off on them. His scheme will not work in this conference.

I try not to call people names but people like this make it very hard.

Dobbs has some talent, but no touch on his deep throws and an inabillity to get it into the endzone.....I am just not seeing the it factor that people have talked about...Bray looked better against SC as a true freshman and you could immediately see his supreme talent and it factor....I'm just not seeing it with Dobbs. 3 points even as a true freshman and with wr drops ain't looking too promising...he resembles worely as a true freshman agsint SC...more so than a future stud....I am eager to see if Riley is any better...

As for Butch....the team has quit on him...oline has regressed ....defense is still awful...is.it really surprising considering what janckeck did at uga? That might as well been a Dooley team out there tonight...

Don't say this often but this is the WORST assessment of a game, team, and coach I have seen. I'm not upset with you I'm just simply making an observation....

If Dobbs was QB for Missouri last night he would have looked just as good as Maulk. The fact is Missouri has a defense and we do NOT. Get over it. Dobbs is a vast improvement over Worley. Now Butch and his crew are still in question. I seen no great game planning going on so far.

You are a fool if you think that Haslam's primary concern isn't his multi-billion franchise and his multi-billion dollar business.

And Hart isn't a long-term guy for the Tennessee Athletic Department.

Once again moron nobody said Haslam's primary concern wasn't his business it always has been and always will be so don't put words in my mouth. You have zero clue as to how long Dave Hart will be here and you have zero clue as far football or anything else goes for that matter. You're one of those little Nega-Vols that will try and find whatever negative you can and use it to try and further your pointless, useless, invalid argument. If this team was 9-0 and ranked #1 I guarantee you would find something to moan about.

Then why did OC Mike Bajakian say two weeks ago that both Dobbs and Fergy were ready? Serious question because he did in fact say that.

Because coaches come out and say that players aren't ready to play all the time don't they? Ever hear of coach speak? Once again you try to come up with something to validate an argument that you can't win.

SO, I guess you want to fire CBJ now! I warned everyone this crap would happen when we fired Fulmer. If you nay Sayers want to fire CBJ now, get used to this same mediocrity year after year.
Name one school under a 1st year head coach that has had to travel to #1 and #2 and #6 the same year, and has had 4 coaching changes in 5 years.
If we make it to 6 wins, it will be an accomplishment.

That was the most embarrassing display of football I've seen this year from #117. That being said I still believe in CBJ and see major upside in Dobbs. It still does not justify that garbage I saw tonight. I guess I'm not a fan anymore I criticized the team.

You are allowed to criticize but do it in a reasonable sort of way, unlike the OP.

The problem wasn't getting rid of Fulmer, it was opting for an all-star recruiting staff instead of hiring a solid HC.

Ok I did not want to call out anyone but tell me one F play j. Smith has mad on def this year not this game this F year. And for you star gazer he was A F 5 star guy. We have guys that would not play for other lower teams .

(Lost internet service most of day and just now trying to catch up with meltdown threads. I hope this morning was gentle to many of last night's posters.)

The next game will be far more telling than the last one. Yes. Dobbs made mistakes. OTOH, he WAS UT's O. The OL did not play particularly well. The WR's still made a lot of mistakes.

For him to do as much as he did with very little help... hardly says he lacks the "it" factor.

As for Butch....the team has quit on him...
I am not willing to say one way or the other.
oline has regressed
They didn't look good. I am more disappointed that Crowder and perhaps others haven't gotten more of a shot than I am that the current guys aren't playing well. CBJ's reputation based on Legaux last year is that he'll yank a starter... yet the OL is standing around ALOT after plays. I don't know about missed assignments but even my HS coach would have benched players who didn't stay on their blocks to the whistle any better than those guys do.
....defense is still awful...is.it really surprising considering what janckeck did at uga?
There is a talent element but IMO last night was mostly coaching.

That might as well been a Dooley team out there tonight...

Sunseri's D would not have held Mizzou to 31 pts... This year's MU O was last years with all of their players back except Franklin.

1. CBJ doing a good job overall - more so in recruiting and getting program visibility than in game coaching so far (but recruiting is very important and he absolutely must deliver that top 5 class if he wants to be successful long term)

2. Dobbs - totally disagree with you - I think he is very talented and will have a great career here

3. DC and OC need to be replaced asap - they are the reason defense looks horrible and if o-line and running game are not clicking - that starts with the coordinator (preparation, discipline in terms of no penalties, calling the right plays, etc).

I think number 3 is crucial. Originally I thought both the OC and DC would do a much better job. Looking at the defense, it's bad. Statistically it's almost as bad as last years. We are giving up slightly less yardage but are still giving up a lot of points and are getting burned badly. I know it's a talent level issue, but I think it has to do with Jancek not being that good.

As far as The OC is concerned, he never should have been hired in the first place. Cheney did a good job last year and there was no good reason to fire him. I could have justified him being replaced if is offense sucked, but it didn't. I love Butch Jones. I think he is a great HC, however bringing his Cincy cronies with him is proving to be a mistake IMO. The offense is becoming pretty predictable and there is not much creativity in the play calling.

All that being said, I hope the assistants prove me wrong. I hope everything starts clicking and we really start tearing it up.

No wonder we are top ten worst fan base with all this garbage on here.

WRONG. We are the top 1 BEST fan base.
People post here because they care deeply and vent when they are frustrated as most fans have high expectations. Also, all of these coaches taking the heat are supposed to be grownup big boys and be able to take it (whoever can't stand the heat from fans after the team gets embarrassed is in the wrong business and needs to get out of coaching).

We just need to set up a revolving door and fire coaches until we get one that the "living fan" likes. We need a coach who lies, cheats and has the morals of a alley rat. We need players we can chain to their lockers in the dressing rooms between practice time and game time.

Lane Kiffin is available.

No really we are one of the top ten worst fan bases. There was a poll on it and seriously we made the list.

Not buying it for one second. Whoever ran that poll had an agenda (probably ran by jealous Vandy fan).

I hate to say this but he would be an upgrade to our OC position.

So I take it you haven't watched a USC game the past two years. His play calling was laughable at best and gross incompetence at worst. ESPN made fun of his play calling abilities constantly. So sure make him OC?

So sure make him OC?

Looked pretty good when he was here and manhandled SCjr, UGA (head to head vs our bearcat DC), and also did well against Bama (was the last time I remember seeing UT actually move the ball against them and have legitimate chance to beat them).
