Lots of suggestions have been made. Not many responses, though.

I say Friday night, we meet in the parking garage downtown where the Brewery used to be. (I don't know what's there now) We can have dinner and a few drinks, and a few laughs downtown, and maybe the Old City, the Strip, before we take it to the next level.

Saturday morning, we can get up early, hangover or not, and meet somewhere closer to Neyland. If anyone knows of any good tailgating spots, where we can actually get 20 or more fans, let's do it. I know it's easier said than done, but there are alot of tailgating spots that are "first come, first serve." I usually hop from tailgating spot to tailgating spot, but there's got to be a place we can "all be" at the same time. What about somewhere in "The Fort?" Maybe near that hospital and up the road from Exxon? What about between 17th and 18th near "Hawkeyes"? Or near "World's Fair Park?"

The easiest way to do it is, have someone that already has an established spot, and get us all there. It's not like we need 20 parking passes. We can all walk to our designated spot.

Have any of you met for games in the past?

Any suggestions?

I'm sorry for beating this "dead horse", but my brother and I, and "Eternal" and his friend, are looking forward to throwing down a "Kick-Cal's-A$$" tailgating party to start the 06' off right. Lord knows we need it!!

And if you know any Cal fans, bring them along, too.

We have about a month and a day to get this settled.

That mirrors the itinerary I proposed the other night. I believe it will provide the best opportunity for an enjoyable weekend.

The closer the date gets, the more it is looking like a day trip for me. With the youngster at home, I will be hard pressed to get to Knoxville on Friday, though that is my intent.

Regardless I am planning on tailgating with the nation. Even if I leave for Knox on Sat morning, I can be there by 10am easily.

Just below the church lot across from the World's Fair Ball on Cumberland is a good spot, especially if you get in the back corner. However, sometimes, they close that lot for companies to use, and I wouldnt know for sure if it would be open. The upper level of the church lot is good, and they "allow drinking" *There are even restrooms you can use*, but some people don't feel right "drinking" in a church lot.

Exactly, Hat. I'm using your idea to get more of a "spread out the weekend" plan so that some people can actually see places in Knoxville that they wouldn't otherwise see.

That's a good "Friday night" plan, I think.

I'd be willing to bet money that hat will be walking around with a picture of Petyon Manning in his pocket.

Actually, they've torn all that up. I dunno what they plan to do back there, but its a mess. I've been watching them for about a month take down those causeways and such. I have class in Dougherty, so I walk in the back door and take the elevator... anyway, that's not an option.

I have no idea what I will be doing that weekend as of yet. I will be there, somewhere, but I dunno what the tailgating plan is yet.
