Power 5 vs. Power 5 (incl. Ind2): nine Power 5 OOC match-ups this coming week, five of them involving the ACC and the B10. The SEC only has one P5 game, when Arkansas takes on Texas Tech of the B12. Two of the week's four Top-25 matches are OOC Power 5 games. All these games are on Saturday:

12:00 noon -- ACC v B10 -- Illinois @ North Carolina
12:30 pm -- ACC v B10 -- #23 Northwestern @ Duke
3:30 pm -- ACC v B10 -- Virginia Tech @ Purdue
3:30 pm -- ACC v Ind2 -- #14 Georgia Tech @ #8 Notre Dame
3:30 pm -- ACC v B10 -- Nebraska @ Miami
7:00 pm -- SEC v B12 -- Texas Tech @ Arkansas
7:30 pm -- B12 v PAC -- California @ Texas
8:00 pm -- ACC v B10 -- Pittsburgh @ Iowa
10:30 pm -- PAC v Ind2 -- #19 BYU @ #10 UCLA

Conference Play: there are eight P5 conference-internal bouts in week 3, including over half the SEC teams and a smattering of three other conferences. The week's other two Top-25 match-ups are in conference play. All are Saturday games unless otherwise noted:

(Thu) 7:30 pm -- ACC -- #11 Clemson @ Louisville
(Fri) 8:00 pm -- ACC -- #9 FSU @ Boston College
3:30 pm -- SEC -- #18 Auburn @ #13 LSU
6:00 pm -- SEC -- South Carolina @ #7 Georgia
7:30 pm -- SEC -- Florida @ Kentucky
8:00 pm -- B10 -- Rutgers @ Penn State
8:00 pm -- PAC -- Stanford @ #6 USC
9:15 pm -- SEC -- #15 Ole Miss @ #2 Alabama

Rearview Mirror Games: both former Vols opponents have games Saturday. For those keeping up with them:

12:00 noon -- #16 Oklahoma vs Tulsa
3:00 pm -- Bowling Green vs Memphis

Miami/Nebraska has my attention. Takes me back to the good ole days. Keeping an eye on the Dukies too. I wish our offense looked more like USC (pro style), but I digress.

Need KY to hammer Florida. It would be beneficial for us to go into a discouraged swamp next weekend.

Kentucky will beat Florida.

If they do I like our chances. If KY beats Florida and so do we, that's Florida's 2 longest win streaks broken in the first year of the McElwain era.

That would absolutely bless my heart.

I want USCjr to knock off UGA - the dawgs are always good for a few head scratchers so long as Mark Richt is there.

Eh, gonna pull for the dawgs alongside my mother-in-law to be. One, she pulls for us now too, two I know what's good for me. Plus, I think the dawgs will crush them. USC's defense is still subpar so far this year and I still think the East may come down to us and UGA anyway.

Florida fans would absolutely turn on McElwain right away if he blows the streaks against both UK and UT.

Of course, our fans will turn on Butch even more if lets the Gators run it to 11 in a row.

Let's take a realistic look at their opponents so far. Some UF fans think they finally have an offense because they beat the brakes off NMSU.

NMSU: 2-10 last year with wins over a 1-11 Georgia State and Cal Poly, this year so far NMSU is 0-2 with a blowout loss to the gators and losing Georgia State who opened the season with a loss to Charlotte.

ECU: UF only won by a score, and while from what I can tell the score doesn't tell the whole story, this is an ECU that lost critical players from last year as well as their OC who is now at Oklahoma. The ECU team UF beat last year by 8 points was MUCH better than the ECU team they beat by 7 points this year. ECU only beat Towson in their opener by 8.

If UK beats Florida handily this weekend, I like our chances even more and even on the road, and it could be a very long year for Florida. Time will tell.
