Since 2007 these teams have combined for 4 national championships. What I find curious is that neither team runs the read option. They run traditional power style offenses. If the read option is so great, why don't the best teams run it?

The only teams that run the spread offense in the SEC are: Miss. State, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. Not exactly the kind of company you want to be in...

inb4 Auburn and A&M run it. They sprinkle it in, but hardly use it as a base offense like Butch does.

I'd much rather us run a pro-style, power run offense with play action over this spread option crap. Our team is more built for it anyway. SEC defenses are pretty fast.. tough for the Spread offense to work.

You can run any offense you want when you can recruit talent like Alabama and LSU and field the defenses that they field. Those are defense-first football teams.

We are a sub par team so that's obviously why we choose to run it. Cmon man! Give it a rest already.

A&M runs a variant of the AirRaid, which is about as spread as you can get.

I noticed their kick off returners are in a different stratosphere than ours.

Talent gap is ugly.
