I'm in agreement. Construction induced fire somehow.

I'm watching on CNN and it's worse and you can't see any firemen trying to fight it, at least from the tv views. The entire Spire is engulfed at this point.

A spokesperson for the cathedral said the blaze was first reported at 5.50pm (GMT) and the building was evacuated soon after.

Roughly 45 minutes ago the first plumes of smoke were reported on CNN.

Roof and spire have collapsed. It survived two World Wars but doesn’t appear like it will survive this. Devastating news.

Sad. It must have wooden trusses to burn like that. I used to assume most of those old buildings were made of stone but after touring some really old cathedrals I was surprised at how much wood they used in them.
