Before everybody jumps on my case about how we dont have a snowball's chance in hell to win this game just think of some things first......

I beleive that this will be a very tough game. One of the hardest we play all year. However, we can win, yes i said WIN if we show up and play to our full potential. Have you all realized that we've lost the last 2 games by a total of 4 points. We have shot ourselves in the foot. And the result is a lack of W's in the win column. Just some thoughts to ponder...

1) Ive heard Notre Dame's defense is one of the worst out there. If the offense executes like it should i think we have a productive game. We could have easily scored 26+ points in the S. Carolina game if you take away a Foster fumble at the 1

2) If our defense shows up like they always do we can hold Notre Dame to 17 or less points.

3) Our kicking game has imporved alot in the past 2 weeks. Especially with Colquitt. He had the best game of his career yet against Carolina, pinning the Gamecocks deep inside their territory not once, not twice, but three times. Add Lucas Taylor to the mix and we could have a good game on our hands. (I think we should line him up at reciever some to see what he's got)

Just some thoughts to ponder. GO VOLS! BEAT THE LEPRACHAUNS!

It all comes down to the same ole stuff. Until our offense exexcutes and somebody starts making plays there's just not much to analyze.

Understood . . .

How about analyzing the dynamic of being 6 games into a season with no clear cut leadership. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but after watching the offense melt down against a porous defense like SC, I don't even know where to begin.

To say ND isn't scared would be an understatement. ND went toe to toe with TN at TN with Ty Willingham as coach and they won. Philly F. couldn't beat an NFL reject in Spurrier, how does he expect to match wits with Charlie Weis, at ND, with no semblence of on offense. Good luck, but I think you are only fooling yourself if you think you can win.

WE ARE ND!!!!!!!

if they are over confident as you are then they are setting themselves up for a loss. not bashin. just sayin that overlooking an opponent is the first step in an upset

Unlike previous years, ND hasn't looked past one opponent this year - including Washington. Lost to a mediocre Mich State team, and gave USC all they wanted. This weekend has been circled on the calendar for a long time since its a chance to play a SEC powerhouse at ND, so my bet is that Weis prepares for what it is - a must win. The students, alumni, and players have been buzzing about playing UT for two weeks - and everyone is amped.

Not here to make predictions, and I agree with many here that UT has the best defense has seen this year (USC's might be close given superior execution), but it won't be a blowout either way, and it will probably come down to 3 points to either side.

Lets get ready for a great week and a great game on Saturday!

Don't bash me here but it seems like alot of what ifs. True ND's defense is not all that good but neither was So. Cars yet still just one td. I for one thought that it would be a game that would get your offense rolling again and on the first scoring drive it looked that way and then I dont know what happened. I think the coaching staff has truly killed the confidence of Ainge. He threw a few passes that were really close it looke to me that the one in the endzone should have been caught but it went through the fingertips of Hannon. But just as it looked like he may get a rythem going they jerk him out. They need to pick a QB and stick with him if they expect to upset ND.

maybe with all the threatinging changes about the coaching staff, they will be motivated and the offense will put up points. :cross:

This is probably the worst time to play notre dame. There is pending speculation that there are staff changes coming. This is a team that score 16 points against the 85th worst defense in the counry. This team is undisciplined and is on a sinking ship. Even Fulmer admitted theat they still have not found a qb.
``We're going to sit down and talk about that,'' Fulmer said of the ongoing quarterback derby. ``We haven't been able to get together (Sunday) as a staff to talk about that. Neither guy played exceptionally well.''

This team is is in serious trouble and it will take new blood to fix this. The dead weight that is there is only holding back the vols.

I am tired of hearing the crap. I know as fans we have to think positive, but this weekend I think I have blown a gasket. Yes, I will still support Tennessee, always back them up, and never turn my back on them. But come on, we lose to South Carolina, at home, at night? You have got to be kidding me. I think we need to pull a Friday Night Lights and tape the football to our backs hands. I am so sick of watching our talent go down the drain. So go ahead, be optimistic, I just can't be right now. Not until the give me reason to believe we can go into a stadium of another team that is playing for a spot in the BCS and beat them.

You can analyze Offense and Defense all you want. When these two teams play, it comes down to intangibles like leadership. I'm very optomisitic that UT has a chance, but don't be surprised if this game ends up like the UF-Bama game. ND could put up a lot of points early, then coast through the final two quarters without a real threat from our offense. :ill_h4h:

Leadership is key. The problem is we dont have any. If we did we would not be making these errors each week and making us 3-4.
