Big 12 and Big Ten Expansion: Texas A&M isn’t a lock to go to the Pac-10, writes SI’s Andy Staples. Why? Because the SEC is in the mix: “emissaries from the SEC initiated discussions with Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne months ago.” So it’s feasible that the SEC could get in the expansion mix, adding perhaps FSU and Texas A&M (our darkhorse: Notre Dame). As for the Big Ten, now that it has 12 teams, what if it decides to add two more – Rutgers and Maryland? Then the league would have a footprint in the coveted New York and Washington DC markets. Lastly, the impending Pac-16. Imagine being a Texas beat writer. You’re about to go from road trips to Columbia, Manhattan and Ames … to Tempe, Seattle and Los Angeles. Nice upgrade.

ESPN is reporting that Notre Dame is indeed coming to the SEC if they will also invite Air Force, Navy, Army, San Jose St., and Syracuse. Also they must get an automatic bid to a BCS bowl if they win 6 games. (which is the case now)

First of all the SEC wouldn't have them. Second of all they wouldn't come because they have it made where they are. It's really ridiculous. I think they should be forced into a conference, or never get a bowl bid. They pretty much suck anymore anyways, but they still feel like they deserve special attention. Makes me wanna puke!
