Notre Dame vs. Purdue

Is Jimmy more like Casey or Rick? I know the guy's a freshman ... but he's looking more like Rick to me.

I remember being at the UT/ND game in South Bend a few years ago. In my section, ND fans were chanting "We got Jimmy" -- and I believe this was before he'd officially committed. I already figured he wasn't coming to UT, so I was thinking, "Ok ... good for you. I'm not all that sad about it, really."

I'm still not all that sad about it.

Jimmy Clausen is a true freshman who has absolutely no help. It's almost scary how inept Notre Dame looks. This team makes our 2005 team look like a well oiled machine.

2 things.

1. I would give anything to have ND on the schedule this year.

2. Assuming he gets help, Clausen will be a pretty gosh darn good qb. He's learning the hard way, by being thrown into the fire, but by his junior year he will have great command of the offense.

I don't know why people give Jimmy Clausen so much credit. He may not have much to work with, but I've watched Freshmen QB's make things work pretty damn well with little to no help at all. Miss. State has a true freshman playing right now. I don't even know his name, and he's playing better than Clausen. The stats won't match up, since Clausen gets all the short passes he wants. Clausen....well...from what I've seen he's just bad. Stafford looked ten times better last year. And is receivers didn't even try to catch the ball!

Clausen has been benched, and his replacement threw a TD catch.. 23-6 Purdue.

Golden Tate has stepped up and made a few plays in this game...huge catch on 4th and 5 for a 43-yard gain.
