...part of the spreading of teachings that potentially send people to hell. Specificially, what I mean is that the Catholic church teaches that if you are not a part of the universal catholic church (what they call the "true church"), then you a not a Christian. In so doing, their members falsely think that they are "saved" by merely being a member of their church, etc. The Bible teaches salvation is a free gift that is made available to all and is gained by personal acceptance in Jesus Christ, repenting of our sins and asking Him to be Lord and Savior in our lives.
What totally yanks my chain is the way that Catholics are perceived in the media to have the market conered on God. In hollywood movies, sitcoms and other venues they are perceived to be the "people of God", especially their priests. While there might be some true Christians in the Catholic church, it is in spite of the churches' teachings, not because of the teachings. I resent anyone telling me that I am not a Christian. I encourage you to study what the Bible has to say for yourself, especially if you are or have been a part of the Catholic church. I think this fellow controls the Catholic church and the idelologies that they proport :naughty:

Jethro if you want to continue to post this please do so in the pub. It's not appropriate for the Volboard. -- vol_freak

Maybe the idea of a bunch of big guys trying to take balls away from the smaller boys in tight pants and score somehow reminds him of Catholicism?

I don't care about your theories on some Notre Dame/Catholic Church conspiracy. Take this crap somewhere else. We're here to talk about football.

:dunno: You just spent two paragraphs telling all the Catholics of the world that most of them are not Christian. Do you resent yourself? :dunno:

Always be leery of anyone that tries to tell you what someone else believes - especially if they have spent the last couple of months cluttering an internet site with bad Beverley Hillbillies schtick.
