how could he be your favorite player, he hardly ever played, he was hurt so much, and when he did play, he only rushed for like 60 yards a game. i was glad when he left.

Good grief... I think he was have as much success as Tiki in his comeback...

Portis is just 30. A lot of carries on those legs though

He averaged 1,395 yds a year in his healthy years(04,05,06,07). That's why. Your just remembering the last two years when he only averaged like 60 a game. He put up some good numbers though

Portis is only 30 and took a year off. He's could be fresher than most 28-year-old RB's in the league right now.

True. Wait and see I guess. I was interested, so I looked up a few figures:

LT 3174 carries
T Jones 2678 carries
R Williams 2431 carries
Portis 2230 carries
S Jackson 2138 carries
McGahee 1790 carries
Gore 1563 carries
MJD 1484 carries
Turner 1470 carries

Portis is done, was good for a time but the number of carries killed him.

The interesting thing about Portis is when he was on the field the last 2 years he was still productive. 4.0 YPC in 2009, and 4.2 YPC in 2010. I'd be more skeptical of his comeback if his numbers were closer to 3.5 YPC.

Sad to see so many ex-NFL'ers hard up for money like that.

Olden Polynice asked my friend for $100 at a casino about a year ago. Dude made $22 Million in his career. My buddy gave it to him (most baller move I've ever heard of).
