but...will there be any surprises besides our 25 commits? who do we have a shot with? anybody?

This is hardly a surprise, but I think this is an appropriate time to reaffirm my commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers. LOI forthcoming.

The only real casulity was loosing Copeland. Other than that we got what we expected. Yes John Brown is confirmed. I don't know if any surprises out there but I would love to have 2 more big uglies. Conrats CDD - Great job, now get to work on 2011- We expect a top 5 class. Go Vols :td:

CDD brought it big time...I agree Copeland is the only real loss in this class..man I will take that anytime. We brought in a big nasty back...STUD receivers, a big TE, loads of DB's and LB's, 3 QBs and a strong OL class (maybe bookend tackles)....we have to address the DL next year. Overall this class is an A!

Great class overall from a talent perspective and considering time cdd had. out of all the receivers we hAve good odds of getting at least one impact player. We replaced our lost rb with a quality four star guy. We picked up a db that should be able to contribute immediately(if not, then why sign a juco?). We got high quality d ends for the future( maybe some contrib next year). We got a highly rated qb. We got alot.

But what we didn't get were the areas we need contributors now. D tackle and linebacker. Yes, we need oline for this year, but true freshmen aren't going to play, we have to go with what we have, this class wasn't going to help there. Some d tackles seem to be able to come in and contribute at least a little immediately. Better hope brown qualifies. I'm not saying we don't have good linebackers on the team, but between lathers medical situation and all the surgeries, let's face it we were thin with everybody and if someone doesn't make it back 100 percent this year we are in trouble when one or two injuries come up. Stanleys loss, behind only copelands loss, is huge. Not cdds fault the joker didn't take the classes needed to get in the sec, but we desperately needed a 230-240lb guy that can run a sub 4.5. If he's as good as he looks, then he is a huge loss.

Overall good class, great considering conditions, but failed to address the most critical needs we have for this year.
