Number of Scholarships available

I realize the baseball team is horrible this year, but I heard on Pennington's Sunday show that we only had 1.6 scholarships available this year since Delmonico had given a bunch of full scholarships to various players trying to save his job. I think we filled 17 spots and so, at a minimum had 11 walkons (you can only split scholarships down to .25). Does this change anyone's opinion on the team?

You have to be a bad ass to get a full scholarship in baseball. I know for sure they can be split, not sure how low. I think baseball has a total of 11.5 scholly per team.

Its 11.7 and can be divided as low as 25%, among 35 man roster, this team lost 3.5 scholarships under DelMonico because of grades (that crazy NCAA), has since gained several back because GPA has gone up and Raliegh got rid of several disruptive players like Gomes. Most kids on this team have some scholarship there was only one walk on and he quite before the season started. Most of these freshmen were very highly recruited by other schools.especially the pitchers.. its not that there is a lack of talent.. Just lack of consistent hitting. that why we loose games.

I think raliegh is just too laid back.

He,( Raliegh) has been very good about the boys going to class and keeping GPA up... but he has essentially taken over all the coaching jobs and rendered the other coaches usless... he did this at the begining of the season.. he is a control freak and does not have good interpersonal skills.. he needs to let the other coaches do their jobs and try to figure out how to win .....that is his job.
