I was there a couple of weeks ago and found it odd that a few eating establishments were cash only. A pizza place in Brooklyn and the Seinfeld place in upper Manhattan. I know why, but was wondering if this is a national trend.

Yeah. All those tatted up people in big cities can't be trusted with credit cards or debit cards, so it's cash only.

Easier to cook the books that way. I bet the owners of such establishments all have tattoos.

Pat and Geno's Cheesesteaks in Philly are the same way..
There's an ATM across the street, so you can get cash

Yes they are. Looks like this would get them a lot of unwanted attention. They're saving on the fees to credit card companies as well.

A lot of joints in bigger cities are cash only. Whenever I'm traveling, my first task is to find the cheapest ATM near where I'm staying.

I don't see how cash only restaurants don't attract robbers.

Likely don't want to pay the processing fees with credit and debit cards. I do see a lot of places make you spend a certain amount if you're going to use a card.
