O-Line Not Getting Enough Credit

I didn't mean here on VolNation, I'm talking about in the media. I'm not seeing it much. Maybe I'm just missing it
When was the last time you saw "the media" doing much coverage on ANYBODY'S OLine? Doesn't sell.

IDK about media proper, my TV and radio are rarely on during the week unless I'm driving lol. But media in a more general sense, here's one. Very good study of our offense vs Bama, and it includes some good looks at our OLine performance:

Less than 20 minutes long. Well worth every minute, too. The fella does a good job.

Go Vols!

Personally, I think the bama game was by far and away the best performance our O-Line has played under Coach Heupel. Virtual shut down arguably the best defense we will see this year…..and absolutely shut down supposedly a top 3 pick in this years draft.

Not to mention, Crawford puking then whipped some ass!!!!

One Hell of a game by the entire O-Line!!!!

No need to be a smart a$$
Apologies came off more douchy than I intended. Oline usually gets little credit from casual fans much less the national media. I think most Tennessee fans have absolutely noted how well the Oline did.

I’ll grab a coffee and be a little less of a B. 😂

I haven't seen many "jailbreak" sacks this year. Those I remember were Hooker holding the ball too long or else stepping out of the pocket. Not blaming him at all... his decisions usually work out well. My point is that these guys are doing it right. Loved Elarbee's excitement about their play after the game. He obviously felt they had a great game.

Earlier in the season I was very critical of our OL because of the lack of running lanes created for our RBs, evidenced by a ypc of around 4. They played their best game of the year Saturday. If they keep it up we have legitimate shot at winning the SEC.

Tennessee Offensive Line Recognized on Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll - University of Tennessee Athletics

Under the direction of second-year offensive line coach Glen Elarbee, the Volunteer O-linemen have been an imposing force in leading UT to a 6-0 start to the 2022 campaign. The prolific Vols lead the nation averaging 551.0 yards of total offense per game and rank second in the country in scoring at a clip of 47.7 points per contest. Tennessee also leads the FBS in red zone offense, scoring on 32-of-32 opportunities so far this season.

With the offensive line providing a clean pocket, the Vols lead the SEC in passing offense (347.8 yards per game) and team passing efficiency with a rating of 194.03. The Tennessee protection unit has allowed only 19 tackles for loss—tied for fewest in the FBS—while paving the way for 203.2 rushing yards per contest.
