I saw recently where Kiffin...when addressing the OL recruiting situation... said something along the lines of "We might not land the highest rated players but they will be athletic and fit our system"

My question is...who are these prospects?

I imagine Fulton and Stone are two higher rated prospects who fit this mold...but other than that I'm not sure he's referring to...

So gurus...who are our top targets that fit this criteria

Another question...

If athleticism is the main priority then why wouldn't we recruit O.C. Brown?

From what I understand he is a raw prospect that is very athletic for his size...

If immediate help on the OL isn't the main priority then why not take an in-state kid who fits the 'athletic' criteria mentioned above?

I am not a guru but do know what he is looking for. Think Denver Broncos Running game with cut backs. He wants athletic guards who can move with RB. Tackles as well. The Center is about the only guy who can be real big(Jose Jose). He does not want 350 pound tackles who cannot move but pass block well. He will take a 350 pound tackle that can do both though.

Fulton is in shape and not a fat weight thus he was a prime target. Douglas is now a Tackle etc.

OC Brown did terrible at our camp and OUs camp. He was constantly getting worked and showed up terribly out of shape from what I've heard.

We are getting the quicker more athletic O linemen to fit our scheme. Wouldn't get too worked up about the stars as long as we get the guys our coaches really want. Cregg will probably have a big input on these kids

Can anyone find anything on this John Harwell kid on the front page of VQ? Sounds like a hit, but I can't find anything on the kid.

See Aaron Douglas. Dakota Mosley may fit in that category as well.

2010 College Football Offensive lineman: Quick List

i heard o.c. brown did horrible at our camp and that is why we are hesitant. plus o.c. currently has lsu as his favorite followed by like kentucky and tenn.

I heard that about OC but I also heard he is athletic but hasn't really learned the position at this point...

I just find it hard to believe we're laying of an in-state prospect with alot of upside after one bad showing against some of the best D-linemen in the South...

And before anyone says it...I'm not high on OC because of stars...I just heard he was very athletic for his size and he's and in-state guy..I really want to 'put the fence up'

Fulton said he told UT’s coaching staff he’s willing to talk to other recruits if it will help influence them to play for the Vols.

“I think that my commitment might be a chain reaction to help some other guys commit as well,” he said.

Fulton after he committed.....I think he's ready to give his all for UT!!!

I'd honestly have to think that peer recruiting is just as important as staff recruiting. These are the guys you are trying to develop chemistry with for the next 3-5 years. The fact these kids want to bring in others that are great is something that I love. We need these diehard leaders and I am glad we have a few.

What an ideal Vol!

Fulton is The Man if he can help bring in more of these beasts.

Good points!

The positive vibe from camp really magnifies this peer effect, imo.

It's especially useful during the dead periods when coaches can't contact recruits.
