Please, never pay attention to anything you see in a spring game. It's not remotely real football. You do things in this game you never would in a real game. Good or bad, it's utterly meaningless.

Just making observations on what's available. Tyler Bray went 5-30 in the spring game and threw for 3700 yds that season. I know there's only so much you can take away.

It's just a pointless endeavor. It's like trying to judge how a basketball team will play based on a game of horse.

Wouldn't say pointless if you have an idea of what you're looking at, but there are a lot of factors involved. But like I said, there's still a lot of time to correct some things, so I'm definitely not saying they'll look the same in September. I'm merely saying based on my observations, I believe we need to go after a 3rd QB that's capable of winning the job or at least pushing these 2.

- Merk was going against 1st defense but his processing was super slow. It didn't used to be that way.
- Mac was much more natural and saw the field better. They ran the same plays.

Agree with both of you, I didn't see a SEC-level QB on Saturday. Merk has a good arm, but looks like he's playing in quicksand. Gmac shows flashes, but could break like a twig. I think Gaston would start over both of them in September, but could see Gmac taking over by mid-season if he puts on 20lbs. This is looking more like a rebuild year, and should go with a youth movement earlier than later.
