This will be my first O&W game and I am really excited! I know its just a spring game but it is truly on my bucket list! That said, are there any other things team wise that I should know about? I know what time the game is but are there other things to do before, after, or just what ever that would add to the experience?

Thanks for any help, I cannot wait to see our Vols!!

· Once fan day concludes at 12:30 fans will be asked to find a seat in the stadium

I hope it is not your first UT game day experience. A real game day is very different than Saturday. The Strip will be slow with everyone standing in line to get in the stadium for autographs. You will think the stadium will be overflowing when you see the lines, but once they open the gates and you get past the initial mad rush, traffic outside will be very light.

The autograph session is to me an embarrassment. My kids have been to 6 or 7 OW games now and I don't even try at this point. Grown men shoving through lines trying to get as many signatures as possible in one hour is something to be ashamed of (If I am talking about you, then sorry). The final straw for me was when my (at the time) 7 year old son fell down in the rush and I truly feared that we would be trampled.

My advice, let everyone run in, forget the autographs, walk around the field and take in the ambiance and then concentrate on watching specific areas of the game; defensive line, wide receivers, etc. If you try and take this as a real game, you will be disappointed.

Good advice. I feel the same way.

Uh, I don't know about everyone else, but I'll be tailgating like it's a real game day. The O&W game is an excellent birthday present.

And I'm going to act like it's a real game day too.(apparently to the annoyance of most people who attend the game.)

Last year was my first autograph session. The line going in was what I expected...terrible. Outside of that, it wasn't bad once we got on the field. I got great photos of my boys on the checkerboards, and a pic with me and my boys and Smokey and his crew. It was a fun experience, one we'll try to duplicate this coming Saturday (but this time the wife and my 3-year-old girl will be with us).

Well stated. For those that have never been to an O/W please read Pump Guy's post. We do the very same thing for the very same reasons. Enjoy the day and the experience, but please do not take it seriously one way or the other. It's practice and the team will be much different in the fall.

Cool.

Why would that annoy people? KPD maybe....but they can get over it.

The O&W is really on your bucket list? WOW!

Is getting a pack of chewing gum on your list as well?

Anyway, I hope your experience is awesome and the weather is nice. Enjoy your day!

Never underestimate the ability of some Volnation posters to get annoyed or embarrassed...as I type this, someone's calling out tailgaters as enabled alcoholics...double your efforts under such criticism I say!

Going to my first OW game to take my 4 and 5 year olds for their first of hopefully many vol experiences. I thought it might be easier to manage them since it won't be as crowded as a regular season game. I'm hoping to just get on the field and show them around and maybe take some pics. I am not going to fight for autographs.

Question for the folks who stood in line last year to get on the field: How long does it take for the line to get into the stadium? If you only want to get on the field and not autographs, how soon do you need to line up? I don't want to spend time in line if I can help it.

See you Saturday!

It is a great family experience. The autograph session before the game is a MUST.. the kids have a blast meeting the players and coaches. And being able to actually just walk around on the field. Be standing on those checkerboards. It is a great experience!!

If you just want to get on the field there is no need to stand in line. They open the gates and everyone files in. It is only to get autographs that you need to get there as early as possible if you want more then 1.

I am glad to see so many people coming for the first time this year. I would REALLY love to see a record attendance, and get this year started off the right way.

But yeah, I'd agree with getting the autographs, especially if you have kids.

I specifically remember my Dad taking me to get a ball signed by Michael Munoz and being terrified of how big he was haha.
