Rookie of the Year was a favorite as a kid. So was The Sandlot!

The Natural I do like except for the ending which is so corny....all those damn lights blowing up gets on my nerves.

The Sandlot
Major League
A League of Their Own
Field of Dreams
The Rookie
Brewster's Millions (technically not a baseball movie, but there's a good bit of baseball in it)
The Bad News Bears

I haven't seen:
8 Men Out, The Natural, For Love of the Game, Bull Durham, or Pride of the Yankees

Looks like you've got some watching to do. Def. have to see Bull Durham simply b/c it's quoted often.

A League of Their Own....so underatted hell ever Rosie O'donnell played a great role. It was an awesome story about 2 sisters doing what they loved most amist the biggest struggle this nation has yet faced. The more talented of the 2 let's her sis win for reasons of the heart....by leaps and bounds the best baseball movie of our time.

As much as I thought I would hate it, I actually liked the movie. Tom Hanks' portrayal of Jimmy Foxx was classic.

My vote though would go to 8 Men Out and The Natural.

You missed out. Bull Durham is easily #1, perhaps the best sports movie of all time. Pride of the Yankees is a classic. 8 Men Out actually kind of sucked, except for the fact that I was in Fenway somewhere as an extra when they were filming. If I made the movie, it is too far in the outfield stands for even my mother to pick me out.

I agree with everyone about Bull Durham. It is not the greatest movie you'll ever see, but if you're a baseball fan, it's required viewing.

Wife and I went on a tour of the sites around town here where they filmed Bull Durham and talked to some folks who were there during the filming. Apparently most of the baseball scenes were filmed in the winter (offseason), and it was pretty cold. You can see players' breath during the night games on film, and the sweat on the players was all misted water -- apparently it was not a pleasant shoot.
