Interesting to Note...
- Oakland is 7-62 against the BCS conference. 2 of those 7 came against Tennessee (2010, 2011) and we are the highest ranked team the school has ever beaten.

- Bader is a monster behind the 3 point line. He hit 124 last season (2nd in the NCAA) but has struggled this season so far.

Stopping Bader is the key...he averages about 17ppg shoots around 10 threes a game and is a career 41% 3 point shooter.

We shut him down and we should win this one easily.

Don't know much about Bader but if he is a catch and shoot guy, I like our chances. Both McBee and Richardson do a good job of fighting through screens and staying with that type of scorer.

What worries me going into this game is that the Vols struggle to put away weak teams, e.g. 1-6 Kennesaw State and 1-5 UNC-Asheville. Like other recent Vol teams, this year's version seems to play down to the level of the competition in too many cases and tank against stiff competition (5-0 OK State).

I'm ready to see this team take on the personality if their coach...even keeled, same approach and response to any team. If they can do that there won't be any more bad losses, and we'll get a good spot in the tourney.

Oakland sucks but they weren't awesome last year either and still beat us. Point is, this is the type of team that isn't fun playing because they aren't scared to go into a hostile environment and break your heart. They played Pitt to overtime and that Michigan State game was A LOT closer than the score indicates. Izzo's bunch was tied and then went on a 18-0 run to close the game out. Bader is the type of player that if he hits a couple in a row, he could drop 30 without blinking. The good thing about him is he's not been very consistent, has shown that length bothers him and he's almost a one trick pony (Skylar McBee type that will lurk around the arc) Does he actually run the point? Pretty sure he doesn't bring the ball up but I might be wrong. Either way, Richardson and McRae should give him fits (especially Jordan). Plus I think our defense is way to good to let someone beat us by catching and shooting. Driving in the paint is where our defense has had problems and I dont' see Oakland doing that.

He's 6'5" and yes more of a catch and shoot. Hell play probably play all 40 minutes or close to it...last year he had 13 points but that was with a lot of shots.

I always get a bit nervous when an opposing player is coming in that is proven, but been "off" lately. I'm sure that it is just because it doesn't burn me when it happens to others and I just don't realize how often it happens to everyone, but it seems that UT is where those guys suddenly "find" themselves.

Couldn't agree more. We have enough length to give him fits though because I don't see him beating anybody off the dribble. The problem we'll have with him is Kampe's offense will penetrate and kick back or you'll see a lot of shots early on the clock. We'll slow it down and grind it out because Oakland will run. If we lose this game, we'll for sure have someone to blame because they score if we don't get set early or turn the ball over too much.
