Despite the fact that Jeremiah Oatsvall, Brentwood Academy QB, just led his team to its' second state championship versus MBA last night in the playoffs in Cookville; UT prefers to pursue QB talent that winds up getting benched by his own HS coaches for non-performance. This while we have offered, but apparently aren't pushing to recruit a championship winner right here in TN. Anyone watching Oatsvall last night saw toughness, talent, determination, and accuracy triumph on this young man's shoulders. Doug Mathews, speaking on 104.5 this morning was very high on Oatsvall. Oatsvall is presently committed to Austin Peay, but I like to think he'd flip to us if our coaching staff would pay him some serious love.

APSU is a good fit.

Oatsvall may end up being a great player, but he doesn't appear to have offers from Middle Tennessee, Memphis, Western Kentucky, Vandy, or any other FBS school aside from the service academies. Butch isn't the only one who is passing.

That said, Dan Mullen just had a great quote after a recent game about the only competition to sign Nick Fitzgerald: "UT Chattanooga." You never know.

People here first complain about us not landing 5* and only having 3* in 2017 class .. then they show up suggesting we sign a Future Austin Peay QB !! Get it together folks !

Offer list speaks volumes.

Jeremiah has offers to play basketball as well. He accepted the offer from APSU because they said he could play QB. He could probably be a very good safety or WR with his speed and toughness. He lacks accuracy but does have a fairly live arm.

Once the recruits hear the chant, "Let's go Peay"....the recruitment is all but over.

We will instead have to settle for Hunter Johnson.

OP. You sound smarter than our coaching staff. Very impressive.

I bet if we're had you on staff, our current roster wouldn't be completely void of any QB talent, the way that it is now. We can only hope.

Hmmm, I wonder who recruited guys like Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, Sutton, Evan Berry, Kirkland, Tuttle, Richmond, Malone, KMac, Warrior, Jennings and Byrd?

Wasn't Dooley. Except maybe Sutton. Not sure what your point is? Butch can recruit well? We know that he did for three years. Can he keep it up until he learns how to coach?

I remember, years ago, Austin Peay had a basketball player whose last name was Fly. The student section chant was a classic.

The Fly is open, lets go Peay.

Some things just stick in your brain :}:}:}

He can't play either sport at the P5 D1 level. I've seen him play basketball. He's an undersized guard (height-wise) who's strong around the rim....and he has a good, consistent shot with range. But he doesn't have great basketball quickness and has only average hops.

IMHO, Austin Peay is a great fit for him to play football while he rides the pine if he tries to play basketball there.

Just stating facts bro. I remember everyone saying "Well the coaches know better than the recruiting services," in order to defend Dooley. It happened. I saw it. Keep it up.

I will. You keep on comparing CBJ to Dooley while you crap in the litter box even though mom told you to stop.
