Obama and the 'New Party'

1. won't get any press traction
2. they can still deny claiming the New Party minutes are wrong as is the roster. Unless they can produce documents with his signature he has plausible deniability.
3. his connection to this group does not surprise me

They are just going to label Kurtz as a loon and anyone who believes this a racist and a far right nutjob. It's no secret he is a socialist.

I am not sure why this is surprising. Anyone who has read Obama's first book knows that he has an affinity for socialist theory, and many of those who elected Obama, the grassroots campaign, wanted him to act on that socialist theory. The reason the far left is so disappointed ad jaded with Obama is that he has turned out to not rule in any greater of a socialist manner than did GWB.

Yeah, I don't see this moving the meter at all with the Dems.

Let's call it an extension of GWB rather than saying he is no more socialistic.

He hasn't deregulated anything GWB regulated but has added Fed involvement in a whole bunch of new areas.

That is fair.

Anyone who thinks that "Compassionate Conservatism" was not a form of socialism, though, needs to have their head examined.

I'm still amazed that the Clinton campaign machine wasn't able to use info. like this to its advantage during the 2008 primary.

Jeremiah wright, connections to the weather underground, ties to the new party, affinity for Derek bell's philosophy, lack of scholarship, etc.

did it not think these were issues worth raising? was it over-confident? afraid of the "racist" tag, like McCain?

I do not understand why both the Clinton and McCain campaigns did not just hand out Dreams from My Father at every campaign stop.

And Clinton was the first to really go after him about weather underground. It wasn't like she didn't try.

Curious, what did the New Party endorse in 1996 policy-wise?

Just an FYI, Your Boy is losing in Michigan

Poll: Barack Obama in dead heat with Mitt Romney in Michigan as popularity slips | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

President Barack Obama’s popularity in Michigan has slipped in recent months, leaving him in a dead heat with Republican challenger Mitt Romney, according to a new poll of state voters by EPIC-MRA of Lansing.

The poll, released this morning to the Free Press and four TV stations, shows Romney leading Obama 46%-45%, a reversal from the last EPIC poll in April which showed Obama ahead 47%-43%.

Obama’s personal and job approval numbers also have slipped, with 46% of Michiganders saying they have a favorable opinion of the president, and 41% approving of the job he’s doing.

Can't fault him for that. It's a solid iPhone app.

The media decided that primary. No media outlet was going to vet Obama.

Note the dates on all of those polls except the EPIC poll. All before the latest disaster jobs report. Your boy is going to lose

If you think that one report caused a 7 point swing in a week you aren't just partisan, you need counseling. And let's see if you stick with that if a new jobs report in the interim before the election shows dramatic upswing.

My guess is you will have some lame explanation for why it doesn't matter when it goes in the other direction.

It's not one report, the swing is from multiple reports, the last one sucked bad AND independents now knowing who is running against Obama and liking what they see

Romney hasn't even picked a VP yet and he out raised BHO by $16 million last month. UE will tick back up as half a million people roll off LT benefits each month

if it's a real number it might mean something. Who am I kidding, we haven't seen one of those in a long time and people still buy it
