American Thinker: Is Obama a Serial Liar?

In just the last month, Obama has made several statements that are just not so. Statements made to the American public that were in direct conflict with known facts.

In April, Obama flatly stated that implementing ObamaCare will reduce the deficit by $1 trillion. A day later, the Congressional Budget Office reported that statement was 'incorrect,' pegging the "deficit savings" at $210 billion over 10 years.

In the same April 15 speech, Obama stated that the tax burden on the wealthy is the lowest it has been in 50 years. A simple fact-check proves him wrong. Obama did not correct his false statement and the media didn't either.

Another blooper: Obama stated that increased drilling will not solve our energy problems. Huh? Again, the media let this statement go unchallenged. (At least Sen. Vitter called him on it.)

Obama would have us believe that the big bad oil companies are to blame for our skyrocketing gas prices, despite the fact that every energy decision made by Obama, from with holding drilling permits to increased regulatory burdens being placed on big oil, has directly resulted in raising the cost of gasoline.

Obama would like us to ignore the fact that his Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, stated in 2008 that he wants to "figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe." Since then, gas prices have doubled. Mission accomplished.

Despite the pain at the pump, Obama's energy dis-information campaign has been quite successful, with a new poll showing that only 9% of Americans believe that Obama is responsible for rising gas prices.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told Congress last week that the Obama administration is trying to come up with a new yardstick to better reflect the improvements it says it has made. The Washington Times correctly noted that, unable to meet its border goals, the DHS merely moved the goals.

Arizona Sheriff Larry Deaver pretty much confirmed the Washington Time's report, testifying before Congress that the U.S. Border Patrol has told its agents to stop arresting illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico to keep the illegal immigration numbers down. In other words, deceive the American people by peddling perception as reality.

Obama and his administration are masters in getting Americans to think with their hearts instead of their brains. After all, emotions are easier to manipulate than facts. And many truths are easier to ignore than acknowledge. But not acknowledging reality, doesn't change the reality. And we ignore reality at our own peril, as we are now finding out on a daily basis.

Not so much nitpicking in the original post, some very real issues.

Besides, on which day during the Bush presidency was he not attacked publicly by liberals?

(oft times those were outright lies, other times there was the half truth spun to decieve the public.)

Continuing Justice Probe of Interrogators is an Outrage |

In the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden, with Barack Obama fresh off his “I killed bin Laden” victory tour, Attorney General Eric Holder’s criminal investigation into the interrogation techniques utilized by CIA officers against captured terrorists is front page news again. Holder reopened the previously reviewed case after assuring Republicans that he would not do so.

In January of 2009, Republican opposition to Holder’s appointment as Attorney General subsided following his “private assurances” that he did not intend to pursue CIA officers who acted in “good faith” when conducting harsh interrogations of terror suspects.

Seven months later, Holder appointed a prosecutor to investigate alleged CIA interrogation abuses. In perfect Kerryesque form, a Justice Department official said at the time that opening a criminal investigation was something Holder “has come reluctantly to consider.”

So, was the Attorney General against the investigation before he was for it, or did he bamboozle the Republicans by saying what he had say to win confirmation? Let’s pick “B.”

The Obama Administration faces tough new criticism, as does Holder, following the now irrefutable confirmation from multiple sources that water-boarding (torture to liberals) played a key, early role in connecting the dots that ultimately led to bin Laden’s visit from Navy SEALs.

One would assume that Team Obama might finally reconsider its position on enhanced interrogation techniques. Not so much.

While on the New York leg of his victory tour, Obama met with Debra Burlingame, the sister of Charles “Chic” Burlingame, (pilot of the plane that crashed into the Pentagon), along with other families who were victims of 9/11. Burlingame confronted Obama about the Holder investigation of the men who interrogated Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, which multiple sources confirm produced critical intelligence in the hunt for bin Laden.

Burlingame: “We wouldn’t be here today if they hadn’t done their jobs. Can’t you at least give him [Holder] your opinion?” Obama’s curt response? ”No, I won’t.” At which point he turned and walked away.

Holder is a liar of the highest order.

BTW, remember when Reid and Pelosi referred to General Patraeus and general 'betrayus?'

Now they want him to save their bacon in
Afghanistan.
