I haven't read the article. No interest, really. However, it does make a difference. Those that feel rewarded will provide more information and behave, I do believe. However, Obama campaigned on shutting down Gitmo and dumping another $750k into it is ridiculous and just pushes me further from voting for him again.

Pretty sure I could built a soccer field for less than 750K. All you need is some grass and some level ground.

Which is exactly what I was thinking when I said dumping $750k into Gitmo is ridiculous. Kids everywhere find anywhere to play and play with anything they can find. There's absolutely no need for a stadium, or whatever they're building with the $750k.

Maybe it was a naive promise? Kinda like thinking having a sit down w/I'madinnerjacket would restart US/Iranian relations or that doing a "reset" with Russia would get them to behave to our liking or unilaterally agreeing to give up missile programs so Russia will comply.

Nah.

Will be the nicest soccer field they ever played on. Maybe they can field a team for the Olympics or World Cup

By all means, make sure to leave out that it is being used with the cooperative ones.

they aren't cooperative they're just the ones that couldn't shoot fast enough and got caught. Attitude once in prison means squat

Read the article, it mentions that location makes everything twice as expensive. Makes sense.

I think that was exactly what it was. Naive. I imagine there is a WHOLE lot coming out of there that only the military and the POTUS are aware of.

I find it ironic that the right would bash him over this, since it is clear that his leaving it open is about preventing more terrorism.

I mean, make fun of him I suppose for breaking his promise on closing it, but at least respect that once in the office he has the stones to change his mind in the interests of national security.
