So the congress drew a corresponding line in the sand and Obama said he isn't playing, LG. Does that mean that congress now gets to throw its hands up then blame the administration? Obama is trying to follow Clinton's footsteps and congress is making sure not to follow Gingrich's.

For my money, both sides will settle this meekly or the guy most notably attached to it, Obama, will get crunched in the media over time.

nope. Obama's the only one approaching this with an open mind, as long as you agree with everything he's about, he'll side with you.

Not if the people on the zombie box have anything to say about it.

This suggests Obama has not been dealing in good faith. As I have said a few times, he has asked for tax increases now with cuts to be determined by Congress later. He gets the tax cuts through with GOP agreement as cover with the public and then still gets to demagogue any attempt to make an actual cut... or decrease in the rate of increase.

lol @ you guys taking Obama at his word.

We'll see some short term deal with minuscule cuts and no tax hikes, and Obama will sign off on it.

Probably correct since their is no leadership anywhere in DC. Intense partisanship from all sides have contaminated the well. When compromise and negotiation for the good of the nation rather than the party is viewed as weakness, it is impossible to come to any substantive solutions.

Obama is probably saying this to act tough since he probably doesn't think it would pass the Senate.

Put it on his desk and I bet he'd be singing a different tune.
