a wikipedia link is great but can you please copy/paste where they actually apologized for PH. Just having trouble finding it

Its right beside where Obama is apologizing to the terrorist for defending ourself.

I was wondering. Will the terrorist be sworn in as US citizens, before they are put on trial as such?

Sigh.

Please read it again.

Pearl is mentioned once during an anecdotal account of Hirohito attempting to approach MacArthur with an apology. Assuming the account was 100% accurate it still doesn't exactly qualify as an "on the record" apology, which surely could have taken place somewhere other than MacArthur's office.

So I'm assuming you mean the "Pearl Harbor apology" is bundled into some of the more generalized apologies listed? To an extent I can accept that but it falls somewhat short of an explicit apology for Pearl.

Oh, and an apology for the two atomic bombs should have Obama ousted from office. There's no telling how many allied lives were saved with those bombs. Absolutely no way we EVER have reason to apologize for dropping them.

If apologizing for the war = apologizing specifically for PH, then doesn't apologizes for Hiroshima and Nagasaki = apologizing for the war with Japan?

Dear Mr. Japanese President,
I am so sorry that we had to drop these bombs on your country. Im sure your military that was hell bent on killing as many Americans as possible would have wanted to sit down and listen to the voice of reason. Tojo was a very honorable man and his actions deserve the utmost respect and honor. In fact, we apologize for the battle of midway as well. We know that you planes deserve their right to shoot us down, and we should have not have fought back, for that we apologize.

On my Knees for you,
Barak H. Obama

Did Obama ever apologize for Hiroshima or Nagasaki?

He voted present when asked whether it was the right decision. However, he was in Japan when asked the question from a Japanese reporter so I don't really have too much of a problem with avoiding the question.

I don't know what everyone expects here.

On the one hand, the dropping of the bomb undeniably brought a quicker end to the war in the Pacfific and probably staved off confrontation back in Europe with Russia. Hundreds of thousands of lives, maybe even millions, were saved in that instant. We had it, we used it, it worked. And it is hard to argue with that logic at all.

On the other hand, the instantaenous and horrible death and destruction it caused is also undeniable. In the blink of an eye, tens of thousands were killed with many tens if not hundreds of thousands more to follow. And they were mostly civilians.

It was a terrible choice to make, either way.

Japan has apologized repeatedly for WWII and admitted fault. I don't think we need to "apologize" for Hiroshima or Nagasaki because we did what we thought was best at the time and a good argument can be made that it was.

I honestly don't think there is anything to say at this point. For them or for us.

Chickens and cows framed the dolphins and whales. Why does the U.S. need to apologize for anything?
