I know an obnoxious ole miss fan who wont let up on tennessee. He think Ole miss is a way better college than tennessee. they have the edge on us on football this year and b aseball and that crap, but we beat them in baskettball. Does anyone have any statistics or anything that I could counter against an Ole MIss fan who thinks ole miss is better than tennessee in football, baskettball, baseball, acedemics, facilities, people, and crime rates. I need help to counter him because I know Tennessee is better. Really I need help

Ole Miss is where people go that can't get in other schools. I know 3 or 4 guys that ended up there for that very reason. I work with a guy whose son ended up there for that reason. He was a state champion in wrestling in Georgia.

Just check the all time record against Ole Miss in football. That should settle the issue.

I frequently argue with Ole Miss fans as well, and always hear that it is the "Harvard of the South." Which is funny because I am almost positive it is one of, if not the only, SEC school you can get into with an 18 on your ACT score. All of the others including UT require around the 24 range. Also just refer the person to Vandy when that gets brought up. Then like the other people said stick with National Championships, and the all time record. Basketball? Really? Wonder if they know Pat Summit?

If you "know Tennessee is better", you would not have to ask. Seems to me you don't "know".

UT has historically owned them in football. The only thing they have us on that actually matters is hot coeds. I can't figure out why they flock to that place but they are loaded every year with exceptional "talent".

According to the Ole Miss website they take kids with ACT of 16. It along with Bama are where a lot of kids go if they can't get into Georgia or Tennessee but still want an SEC school and have parents who are willing to foot the out of state tuition bill.

They go there because it is the easiest school to get into in the SEC. I can think of several much smaller colleges I would rather graduate from.

I think so...... like the Good Ol' Days at UT when I went.

We used to say "if you can pass water, you can get into UT". but no more.

...because of the fact that it is quite the opposite of the Harvard of the South.
