Some observations after my first trip to TBA.
1. An unproven football coach and his staff got a louder ovation than the successful basketball team that was playing. I could understand the excitement if Mrs. Kiffin had entered.
2. Bruce Pearl is promoted more than the BB team. The intro video had more footage of him than anyone else. Just makes him look more like the self promoter he is.
3. Would have hated to see TBA before the renovations. Seats cramped, concourse average. It isn't as nice as the Pyramid.
4. Crowd, at least where I was sitting, was friendly and fairly knowledgeable.
5. The scoreboard was too "busy" and hard to read.
6. Game stat scoreboards did not have FG or FT percentages.
7. It was fairly easy getting into and out of the parking areas.
8. A lot of Vol fans left way too early. True fans don't leave with their team down 1 with 4.6 to go, regardless of who has the ball. Especially when the opponent is an average free throw shooting team.
9. Good coaches don't blame officiating for a loss, especially when his team has fewer fouls called on them and shoots more free throws.
10. Tyler Smith is a great college player. If all the other players played with 1/4 the fire and desire of TS, the Vols would be a a Top 15 team.
