You guys look like nuts when you keep pushing this muslim conspiracy stuff. He isn't a muslim, and it doesn't make any difference even if he were.

Obama, and his administration from the bottom up, are just a bunch of political pandering fools, like the last administration was. There is exactly 0 people in Washington that care about the "People".

Surely you jest!

Good post, but I'm slightly more optimistic. The problem is how do we get someone elected who puts the people first. It's a big one.

Can he please go on vacation again? He's only been back a day and already I'm sick of him (again). I find the news a lot less repulsive when he is not on tv playing president.

Yes it would. Whether you like religion or not, if it is sincerely held then it informs and forms a person's worldview.

I don't think he is a muslim personally. I think he is a UCC brand of "christian". Theologically liberal on questions that Christianity actually asks and answers. But they go further. It is a very politicized denomination but obviously doesn't get much condemnation since it is politically far left.

The kind of Christian he is makes him far more radical and dangerous than if he were a moderate muslim. Study the teachings of Liberation Theology and Black Liberation Theology. It starts with "social justice" and moves fairly quickly to rationalizing hostile revolution to get there.

FTR, being muslim and UCC aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. The UCC is so liberal that they may not hold Christian distinctives strongly enough to deny a practicing muslim membership.

The muslim would probably have a problem with it though.

Got to give the right wing hate machine credit for their "If we say it enough times people will believe it" approach. Saw a poll the other day that one in five believe that Obama is a Muslim.

Are you saying 80% of the people are calling him a liar or that they are just misinformed since Barry professes to be a muslim??

I have a number of relatives who are active in the UCC. They are not loony liberals, far from it. They are successful businessmen and women, respected tradesmen and they work tirelessly to help those who are in need. (I'm talking Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica etc.) I've been to their services and I can say that most Protestants would feel pretty much at home. They are no more liberal than several other Protestant denominations like Lutherans (mine) and Presbyterians (the liberal branches, I'll grant you, but still the larger branches...)

I hate to see people making broad pronouncements about groups of people with no truth and no evidence to back it up. It's just not possible to have any sort of meaningful discussion. Pity.

So much hate, it makes me sad...

I study theology and compare statements of belief. The UCC is very liberal theologically and denies scriptural authority on a great variety of issues- the morality of homosexuality being one.

There may certainly be individuals who aren't "loony liberals" or even local congregations. But the denomination as a whole as compared to historic and orthodox Christian belief is very liberal. They push the "social gospel" which is "another gospel" different from the biblical one.

FWIW, it isn't personal. IPO is an atheist. I disagree with him... even pity him in light of what I believe about human destinies. But I like him. I have many Catholic friends and disagree with them on many things.
