I have been ridiculed by some of you for speaking of today in terms of a marketing opportunity but I feel today has to make a BIG difference in the PR around the program. I want to challenge all of you to spread this excitement to as many fringe fans as possible.

Most of us here are stoked about today but there are many fans that will fill up TBA that don't even know who Stokes is much less that he can play in Jan. It looks like to me that the first home game JS will play will be vs the Cats. Cal ask his fans to scoop up those remaining 4k unsold tks by twitter this week. We can't allow that to happen!!!

We also can't rely on the athletic department to do the work of promoting tonight because I feel very confident that due to NCAA rules they won't be able to comment on JS until the first day of class. Simply put spread the good news!

Lastly don't expect this kid to make us a tourney team over night. Keep the momentum of tonight going even if he doesn't equate to victories this spring. He will win us games in his career but I fear it might be next year. Don't let that effect the excitement that tonight has built!

Its truly a great day to be Vol!!!

Please change the title to "Off the Court Benefits to GETTING Stokes" before the NCAA comes calling. Thanks. Btw, good post

I don't think people are realizing that the benefits this pick-up brings will come in the form of more high-profile recruits. Guys somewhat interested or maybe on the fence will see this and want to be a part of it. All it takes is one guy and others will hopefully come.

Hell I can't figure out how to change it?

Mods if you will change the title by adding the word getting that would be great. I am too stupid to figure out how to do it myself.

Why would they? Are you suggesting they should be buying commercials for a freshman who has yet to join the team?

That's what I'm hoping for. Hopefully some good uncommitted/unsigned guys will see that they can add to what we have. Also, would love it if
Jarnell and his play could convince Jonathan Williams to come

Sure. But you can't hype up an unproven player--especially against Kentucky? Would that be fair to him?

I agree there is a fine line when considering how to handle him coming onto the scene. My point is for us the hard core fans to spread this excitement so it will equal more butts in the seats. I am not suggesting full page adds or tv commercials just good old word of mouth excitement from us the fans.
