Well, here is my summary of our offense and special teams play. For whatever it's worth.

We started off the game with a spectacular kickoff return to the 10 yardline. At that point, I said to myself that it's going to be along game. I was right.

First Series
We had some effective short runs and moved the chains right up until our first offensive mistake....the false start. After that, it was time to punt.

Britton came in and "boomed" a 33 yarder which gave bama good field position.

Our defense came out and forced a turnover and it was Tennessee ball at the 50.

Second Series
We drive down the field and Riggs decides to kick off the gift giving with a fumble on the 10 yardline. It's early and bama is pinned back, no big deal until the defense jumps offsides and lets them out of the endzone. They take that and drive down the field where they miss a long FG.

Third Series

Ainge comes in. Fulmer doesn't tip his hat before the game about when Ainge will play, but sticks with his third series format. Brilliant!

1st and 10 - INC pass. Holding and illegal formation knock us back.

2nd and 15 - Run up the middle for 4.

3rd and 11 - The old faithful draw play which gets 0 yards.

The punt is better but still not great and we sent a message that we are here to play us some conservative football.

Fouth Series

Foster comes in and is a breath of fresh air.

Foster makes good runs, Rick completes 1 good pass and then comes that sneaky reverse. However, it wasn't sneaky because now it's 3rd and 16. DOH!!

So we punt. This is the best punt that I've seen from Britton. He drops it on the 3, right behind Hannon, and it rolls into the endzone. It should've been downed at the 1 yardline.

Fifth Series

Clausen tried to throw an INT but Swain was having none of it and bats the ball down.

2nd and 10 - Foster runs for 5. Good for him

3rd and 5 - Yep, the old faithful draw play again. This time we get 3 yards. YAY!

4th and 2 - We go for it. Everything goes well except for the most important part....the catch. Turnover on downs.

Our D comes up with another stop and we end up chewing clock just trying to get out of the first half alive.

HALFTIME :ill_h4h:

First Offensive Series of the second half

1st and 10 - Riggs gets 0

2nd and 10 - RC to Meach for a first down. That's the second good throw.

1st and 10 - Riggs for 2 yards

2nd and 8 - Rigss for a loss of 1

3rd and 9 - Offsides on bama. Hey, they made a mistake.

3rd and 4 - Foster's effort gets a first down.

Two First downs in a row? We are moving now by God.

Foster gets another. We're getting the hang of this.

Then.....1st and 10 - Foster loses 1 yard

2nd and 11 - RC passes for minus 1 yard

3rd and 12 - Screen pass!!! But Riggs steps out early.

4th and 2 - We have learned our lesson, let's punt. Bama muffs the punt! Get the ball! Get the ball! Damn, we didn't get the ball.

Second Series

1st and 10 - INC pass.

2nd and 10 - Riggs gets 3

3rd and 7 - We don't need 7, let's pass for five and hope for the best. Nope, didn't happen.

4th and 2 - Punt

The punt was good, and we down it at the 9. Finally, good job guys.

Our defense keeps playing lights out. Bama punts and Taylor dives for the ball but forgets to catch it. Bama ball. DOH!!

Mahelona late hit helps them out in their field position quest. DOH!!!

FG good Bama is up by 3.

Third Series

1st and 10 - HOLY COW!!!! CLAUSEN JUST THREW THE LONG BALL AND CONNECTED. WE'RE GOING TO WIN THIS THING!

1st and 10 - Foster fumbles but we get it back with a loss of 2.

2nd and 12 - Riggs for 2 yards

3rd and 10 - Yep....the draw play. :(

4th and 2 - After the delay of game before kicking the FG, Wilhoit connects and ties it up.

Fourth Series

1st and 10 - Another completion for a first down.

1st and 10 - Foster for 3

2nd and 7 - Foster for 6

3rd and 1 - Foster for another first down. We're rolling once again.

1st and 10 - Riggs runs for about 20 yards. He only does that in the 4th quarter.

1st and goal - False start....are you serious??

1st and goal - Foster for a loss

2nd and goal - With nothing open, RC decides to throw an illegal pass down the field. OUCH

Then Anderson gets hammered and the ball goes skipping out of the endzone. Touchback!!

We all know what happened after that. Bama puts together their best drive and gets the FG.

We have 14 seconds left. Taylor takes it out of the endzone. The special teams don't give up. They had to get in 1 more penalty with a hold and top it off with a personal foul. So much for the little bit of position we had.

Ainge comes in and throws one last hail mary that was intercepted.

Well, I don't know about you all, but looking over all of that makes my head spin. I know it was a long read...sorry about that.

And let me just add that this has all been the norm. We continue to shoot ourselves in the foot at key moments in the game while the defense does nothing but fights to keep us alive.

Wow, OWB that has been the most insightful post from you I have ever seen. (I hope I have one sometime)

That's why you are higher on my idol meter than VMJR.

 Yep, that was my once in a blue moon real contribution to the board. Kind of like our offense trying to score. It happens, but not often.

I knew that was coming. How do I not know anything? There is nothing fictional about my post. It's the truth.

I'm sorry I'm not a football expert/coach/God like you are. We should all bow down and kiss your golden feet I guess.?.

I bet you run the wishbone.

I have come to the conclusion that even though you are a coach, you don't know anymore about football than anyone on this board, and frankly no one wants to listen to you call them ignortant in all caps.

Randy's bro has got to go.

That's not what bothers me. It's mikey's inablitiy to have a civil discussion about anything. I might not know as much about football as he does(though I have my doubts), but I certainly have better people skills. :biggrin2:
