I've read a lot of posts since the Georgia game , some I've written myself that offer a multitude of maybe's to fix the problem. But as I sit here I've come to the conclusion that the problems with the Vols offense is flawed on so many levels that no one solution would fix it. So many little things going on at the same time like a recipe for screwed up offense cake. To analogize the movie 'the replacements' Keanu Reeves talks about what hes afraid of, and he says quicksand...meaning everything goes wrong at the same time, and no matter what you do to try and fix it the problems just get worse and worse. I think this is where our Vols are, they know whats happening on the field is unacceptable, everyone blames themselves and others, the coaches fight amongst themselves and blame players, the players blaming each other and coaches, and they're not blind to media and fan comments being critical. Its all spiralling downward and no one seems to know why. CPF says the buck stops here, and so it should. I don't mean this as I blame him for all of it, I mean he should fix it...the more public the better. If he has to bring in an outside source to come in and identify the problem areas that hinder success like any business and give him action items to take care of thats what he should do. If he has to get AD Hamilton to allow a team psychiatrist for emotional balance then do it. If he has to seek out and hire a NFL grade QB mechanics specialist to work with our QB's 1 on 1 thats what he should do. My point is he should be doing things visably to show that hes proactively seeking the cancerous problems and applying actions to cure them. I'm going to try my best to be a positive poster from here on out, and I challenge all to to the same, because at the end of the day we're a group of Volunteer fans who hope for our Vols and what we post here probably wont affect anything except our own demeanors and relationships with one another. Go Vols! :twocents:

I for one, stay off of the players and coaches. Agreed, there is No quick fix.
Your point on a team Psychiatrist is a very legit one. Key position players all around the country use them, wouldnt it be easier to go to that specialist and talk to them about what may be going on verses going to a coach or even worse speaking to no one about it, and letting it continue to hamper a players ability?

Good post Dan'o

ty bud. Ive been as big a duck in the puddle about being critical of coaching and players but ...man I feel like its just gotten to the point its bringing everyone down and also giving out vistors who are not pro Vols fodder to attack and be critical. Constructive criticism occasinally is fine, and Ive done my share, but we need to tone down the negativity.

I've been saying this for weeks. We've got way too many head cases.

Correct, no solutions this year.

Being a coach in the past, I was always amazed at the differences between what I called "practice players" and "game players". Athletes that were unimpressive in practice suddenly showed up as forces in games. This is a problem as one can plainly see.

What we have here is either the UT coaching staff lying to us or practice players how are not game players. Since you never know until the game comes, I will resolve to the lack of game player philosophy.

<cough>

Excuse me, I just followed the recent spin and lied.

See my post re: Something Was Amiss From The Start.
