My first thread, I think...here it goes.

For those of you that, like myself, look at our offense and go, "Oh my God. What in the hell happened here?" I found a really, really good article (3 actually) that can help me, and maybe you dear reader, understand what our offense is going through. Its a long read, but I came out the better for it. Here are the links:

Part 1:
The Difference Between Butch Jones and Brian Kelly: Part 1 - Down The Drive

Part 2:
The Difference Between Butch Jones and Brian Kelly: Part 2 - Down The Drive

and Part 3:
The Difference Between Butch Jones and Brian Kelly: Part 3 - Down The Drive

See what you think. Curse me for my optimism if you wish, but I took away a little more insight into what our young skill positions, inexperienced QB, and entire offense is struggling to learn.

didnt read it but cbj should b using a system that maximizes tn chances to win. if his system takes years to be truely eff than he should install it in phases n that doesnt seem like what he is doing.

reminds me of the clawson (spelling) experiment because that off was a train wreck just like this one n rich rod at mich...

what happened to the power running game he.promised tn would have???

Take a deep breath.

We played @Oregon and got trounced early by what is likely the best Offense in the country but they also have a pretty respectable defense.

Then we played @Florida the next week and got faced with what is probably the best DL in the country but also a very talented Defense overall... especially the secondary.

UT couldn't move the ball at all with Peterman and by the time Worley came in, the team needed more points than it did time off the clock. Plus, Worley was actually doing a decent job moving the ball down the field. We still ran it 7 times for 47 yards in the 2nd Half.

Save it... I agree with you 92VolAlum.

So you think Jones and Bajakian should re-engineer their entire blocking scheme for 1 year?

I'm honestly curious here. Though, your agreeing with a guy that types like he's 12 is pretty telling.

I like the idea of diving into the new system. There is no point in creating a "fake offense"....They're going to have to learn this offense eventually, why not now?

What the heck was Peterman doing trying to throw the ball from our goaline early in that game? Makes no sense......makes me wonder if Butch's offense will work at all in the SEC?

We're discussing football not grammer. I think we need to put this team, team 117, in the best position to be successful. I just don't think we have done that to date.

The best position for this team to find success is to position ourselves about 40 spots lower on the "strength of schedule" rankings. Sadly, we can't do this so we need to be implementing CBJ's system in preparation for 2014 and 2015.
