Of course I watched the game.

Ainge had a great game. BIG plays.

Question though....

Has our O-Line proved it's weight in gold?

Are they the reason Ainge had time to throw, think and excel?

How will they fare against florida or LSU???

I think they're better pass blockers than rush blockers at this point in time.

It's still too early to tell, but so far it appears that they're an improvement over last year.

I agree. They did a good job of protecting Ainge - aided by the playcalling.

The playcalling and the fact that Ainge got rid of the ball pretty quickly unlike last year.

They really shut down Brandon Mebane in pass protection. He's a quick, pass rushing DT...and he didn't sniff the QB at all.

Mr Orange and I talked today about the game in depth, and we pretty much agreed that the pass blocking was superb. Like, really reallllllly good.

The run blocking could have been better (because the Hardesty carry SHOULD have only been 4 yards or so), but the ONE THING Cal did well was their front 4 played tough against the run.

I think they will gel into a very good run blocking team. Cal had speed, no matter how poorly they played.

Im thinking facing an option offense before we face Florida will be a sweet stroke of luck and/or a brilliant scheduling move. Im thinking it will sharpen the defense if anything, and make individual players more disciplined in fundamentals. Especially the DE's and safeties.

Good point, dan. In reality, you'd think Air Force would be like a scout team version of Florida's spread/option variety.

I was impressed with the pulling blocks by our O-line. They pulled up out of their stance and moved well blocking on the exterior.

I'd imagine Meyer will wait until Leak's departure to start really incorporating the spread. Tebow is the perfect fit for it.

Absolutely. I couldn't disagree more with those who said they didn't do a good job of run blocking. They were quick, physical, and played hard throughout. They got over 200 yards of rushing against a talented defense that spent most of the day with 8 men in the box trying to stop the run.

They did an above average job of run blocking.

It definitely could've been a lot worse. I just said that I thought the pass blocking was better than the run blocking and the pass blocking was awesome.

Yeah... the superior pass-blocking really overshadowed the not as impressive, but still very solid run-blocking.
