Missed the beginning, but that was something special to watch. You could almost picture all the greats playing out there while the game was going on. So much history, and I'm sad to see it go.
What does that even mean? The Dodgers played in LA at 4 pm. So Joe was supposed to miss the game? Or fly cross country and leave his team in the middle of being 2.5 games back with 9 games to play?

"Cathedral" seems appropriate. I'm no Yankees fan either (though I used to be when Reggie Jackson and Goose Gossage were there), but there's no denying what Yankee Stadium has meant to baseball.
There won't be anywhere near this much reflection when the original Texas Stadium is imploded sometime next year.
