As a Red Sox fan, I am here to say that Yankee Stadium will be sorely missed by all baseball fans alike.

But, we did win our 2004 ALCS title in that stadium. Oh yea, it went there

What does that even mean? The Dodgers played in LA at 4 pm. So Joe was supposed to miss the game? Or fly cross country and leave his team in the middle of being 2.5 games back with 9 games to play?

Of course he couldn't have been there, but the classless Yanks could have at least acknowledged his existence.

"Cathedral" seems appropriate. I'm no Yankees fan either (though I used to be when Reggie Jackson and Goose Gossage were there), but there's no denying what Yankee Stadium has meant to baseball.

There won't be anywhere near this much reflection when the original Texas Stadium is imploded sometime next year.
