Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

I don't put forks in if they have food on them. Soak them before l throw em in and half a swipe with a brush. My first hourly job was washing dishes, and my tolerance for putting food in the machine is probably 1/10 what your is. Drives me crazy to pull out a bowl and it's still got crusties on it
If i have to scrub it first I will just get it clean and let it dry. You lose any water efficiency pre-rinsing.

I hate the dishwasher when you pull out the plastic and there is still water pooled on it. And my last apartment had an issue where the water backed up into the dishwasher. Never could get them to fix that, "just run it so it drains before you load it". Needless to say that I never used it. And got used to hand washing.

just your toilet drain line backing up into your dishwasher,.no biggie.

so dropped 150 for some guitar tools a couple of months ago and now dropping another 250. Gonna be a luthier..looks like. Not a loother though.

Went to GC other day and picked up an Epiphone and the bends were so slinky, and I thought why cant I have that..about 3 semitones easier..I just cant figure it out..set my neck relief, action, bridge and raised tailpiece..dont want to raise it too high as it will stress the studs. Nut sauce didnt do squat. Could drop to .009s but dont think it will make big difference,

Will try fret leveling, crowning, and polish as they are flat at 40 years old, and saddle filing. At this money, not far from buying the dang Epiphone.

So, without Googling it, who here knows what a "woobie" is?

I just had to explain it to my coworkers and explain it's a piece of gear that's never been used for it's designed purpose, but is worth it's weight in gold.

So it seems to me the origin of calling it that is still a bit up in the air. The one I've heard most is it came from what a kid in Mr Mom called their blanket.

I do, I do, pick me!!!!!!!!

There was a time where I'd never be without one.

No real complaints from me but I just couldn't hear/understand him over the music. I thought it was me mostly getting old by I was told its also his style a bit.
This was where I was with it. I really liked some of his older stuff and was kind of disappointed not to hear any of it. But I appreciate that it was live. And if you've ever been to live shows rap just doesn't lend itself well to those types of performances unfortunately.

Much like rock and pop some are good live and some are not but rap because of cadence and volume is particularly difficult.

I think a lot of my taste in music comes from my memories.

Hair bands always take me back to high school memories and ballgames played.
Grunge takes me back to Presidential Courtyard in the early 90's.
Jam Bands take me back to dates with my (now) wife (Jackopierce and Athenaeum for the win!)
Country Gospel and Luciano Pavarotti take me back to riding in the back of a '77 Lincoln Continental with my dad driving me anywhere while popping in 8 tracks.

I don't have to like the music; I just have to like the memories.
Not quite in the same way......... but I equate music with memories as well. I guess we all do to some degree.
