You and me both brother...not the married a Gator fan stuff but the trying to put my emotions aside and think as rationally as I can.

The only redeeming thing about marrying a Gator is that she does pull heartily for UT when the two aren't playing and she loves wearing bikinis. Other than that, you would think she was just a normal person...

Texas assistant football coaches' salaries disclosed - Houston Chronicle

Texas assistants make 3.6 Million...When Muschamp was on staff, he made $900K, so it would have been right at the 4 Million mark.

So when Jimmy Hyams says "No one is paying that kind of money, not even Alabama and they are proven." He is wrong as usual, both Bama and Texas do and I bet LSU is right there too.

If it makes you feel better, I totally agree with you that Arkansas and Gruden is laughable (but not impossible).

And you are right, there could be some important members of his inner circle that are applying some pressure. This could be valuable. However, I don't think any of their relationships could be contingent upon him going to UT if there are other "better" jobs on the table (NFL, etc). I don't know about you, but my wife wouldn't leave me if I didn't move her home and I doubt my best friends would stop being friends if I chose something they didn't like (otherwise they aren't really friends, right?).

I think if we are putting everything on a scale, you have described things that are certainly in our favor but I don't think the scale has tipped enough to say that it is more likely than not that our next coach is Gruden. It is just a possibility albeit a possibility that I want...

I'm not so sure that an NFL job is a "better" job than a high profile college job like Tennessee now that college salaries are approaching what the NFL pays.

If Gruden fashions himself as a "teacher," then I can see why the college game would be more appealing.

He might want to work with young men and make an impact on their lives. We start thinking about these kinds of things in our late 40s.

He already has a Super Bowl, so what else is there to prove in the NFL? It would just be the same song, different verse.

I am sure there are others that weigh one way or the other.

The Ainge comments are what really bother me. I am not saying he is right, but the excuses of him just denying the Gruden stuff because he has been asked to do so....I don't buy. I think some people on here (Not Dan) have legitimate information and I appreciate them sharing. I have been following since the first thread and must say that I will be very disappointed if Gruden isn't a Vol come January. With all that said...I remind myself daily of the Saban hire at Bama and everything about our situation is similar to that.

Rucker is a choad without peer. His level if douchiness cannot be measured with existing technology.

I live for the day when I can rub his nose in the Gruden hire like a puppy on a soiled rug.

Oh i know...I could really care less about ole rucker. I was saying it like oh my here we go again with him
