"Hi my name is Nick Saban. Here are my 3 national championship rings at Bama and I also have another one I don't show people. We have a dynasty and are good enough to beat a few NFL teams. Want to be apart of what we have going?"

Not such an easy choice! It isn't going to be easy

I see you count National championships like bama fans.

Damn I was quoting Saban and yes that has been a topic lately and I am sure he is using it in recruiting.

For the record I don't think there is any way in hell they would beat the worst team in the nfl in the last 10 years.

It's all good, BV

You are aware that he only has 2 NC's at Bama right?

GTFO! Everything is speculation and rumors at this point. To completely rule out Arkansas is just as silly as saying Gruden is 100% lock for here. So how about you go away?
You are obviously highly uninformed. I feel sorry for you if you think Arkansas has a chance. Btw I will be here for awhile. Get used to it chump.

I'm sure it has been stated... There is a point where $ is not an issue for one person but what are the stipulations for a staff and longevity.

I think one thing we should all agree on is to temper the expectations a little. Gruden or anyone else is going to have plenty of hard work to do. I think it is wrong to give him or any coach a halo until they earn it. I think he is our guy and I want him but I also want to give him the right amount of time. Patience in the short term and in the long term. He will win some recruits and lose some as he will games.

No doubt. Kiffin did it and we got Bryce Brown at the last minute. My concern is can we keep Gruden if we get him? And at his experience/expertise level, it might not be all about the money. The decision might be like this: 3rd tier UT... NFL gig... 3rd tier UT... NFL gig... being relevant in big time football... 3rd tier UT... money ain't everything, but if we are gonna get him, I'll wager it will play a big part, and there had better be a dumptruck full of it backing up to his door as we speak.

It never ceases to amaze me how supposed UT fans can always refer to us as 3rd tier. When Gruden comes we will not be 3rd tier. Any good coach likes a challenge and I will admit that is what we are now. But it is not like we are devoid of talent. What we do need is a good recruiting class this year, a great year in the weightroom and football 101 being taught to our players. Running, blocking, tackling. If he does leave in 3 or 4 years, we will be much better off for his having been here. Personally, I don't see him leaving. Let his wife get back home close to family and it is a wrap.

Gruden if we can get the money which i think we will i have a strong feeling we could land him. just my opinion.

Uh, Recruiting would absolutely go crazy with Gruden at the helm. He is the hottest commodity in American Football. Kid's love the attention, the limelight, well there is your coach who broadcasts to millions of viewers every monday with a Super Bowl ring on his finger. I think he can go toe to toe with Saban.

Hey Saban how was the NFL?

I highly doubt that Saban is telling recruits that his team could beat NFL teams, it's more of a joke and you have to be delusional to think that Saban is using that as a recruiting tool.

When it becomes a topic on espn you can bet he is using it. Context can be thrown out the window if a quote helps your cause in recruiting.

Not trying to be a smart ass...but honestly who do you think is better than Gruden?

I agree, he fits everything I'd want in a coach. He's well known and has a super bowl ring so He'd bring in recruits, as Tennessee ties, and he is a good guy. I can't think of anyone better.

If a coach told me that he could beat NFL teams, it would come across as arrogant and just plain stupid, and that topic on ESPN has been met with laughter. There's alot Saban can pitch, but that's not one of those things.

The fact that we would even be in the same realm as Bama is already light years ahead of where we are and where we've been in recruiting over the last few years.
