See, you're looking at it all wrong...
First of all to understand what happened to Gruden, you gotta understand who Gruden the coach was. Now Gruden was born to a three-legged ***** of a mother. He was always ashamed of this, man. And then right after that he's adopted by this man, Bob LaMonte, he's a small time gun runner and a coach promoter. So he puts Gruden into training. They see Gruden's good. He is damn good. But then he had the fight of his life. They pit him against his brother nibbles. And Gruden said "no man that's my brother, I can't fight nibbles" but they made him fight anyway, and Gruden, he killed nibbles. Gruden said "that's it!" he called off all his fights, and he started doing crack, and he freaked out. Then in a rage, he collapsed, and his heart no longer beat. wow.

Bruin what's your opinion on how this has gone down? Do you feel the deal is completely dead? I have enjoyed reading your post the last few weeks. I thought while you were skeptical, you were respectful and offered much needed skepticism.

I was told second hand from high ranking booster that talked to a high ranking AD member on Thursday this:

They thought gruden was done numerous times and each time he added more demands. Either money or control

Finally after offering him anything and everything with him asking for even more they realized he wasn't going to accept any deal and they moved on.

It could be CYA info they gave to keep boosters happy but I don't think so. I think that story makes the OG's story correct except for Gruden willing to follow thru

Exactly. If the rumors were false why not laugh about it? Instead his demeanor totally changed and he wanted to stop talking about it immediately.

He didnt get pissed until M&M brought up the Browns ownership stake and started making Bill Haslem jokes, thats when he got pissed.

One thing is for sure, if this is a massive disinformation campaign, they have done a masterful job. Virtually no one in the media is talking about Gruden.

Macgruder... I read you hypothesis, good post,

but who and what are you promoting here? you continually bring attention to yourself and that is kinda annoying to some..:eek:hmy:

Yeah, I understand what you are saying, but he and TNHopeful505 are two that have put a lot of things together to make a plausible hypothesis, which is more than most have done.

I only meant to say I could see that if Gruden was not hired... do not want to confirm or deny that will be my final decision... I do not type like I think...LOL

I am willing, once this is over to consider all senerios of the case, but believe as or now....Nothing that I KNOW or Believe I know adds up.

Hopefully it will end soon and we will all find out (maybe)
I think it ends Tuesday or Wednesday. Jmo

morning Coasty

I am picking myself up off the mat... and believe now we may still be in this.... only a small chance... but the longer a announcement is delayed the better our chances.

Did I hear, or did you or SBV say in the begining (maybe someone else did) that Hart would interview and present at least three names and then Gruden would be added into the mix and we would see?/

I hope I did not just dream this up????????

Not trying to hijack this post but, basilio has been saying this for awhile now.

the one fact here that cannot be denied is Gruden himself has not denied anything about tennessee, only that he wasnt given an offer, which we know is bs. why would he lie, that is the question. and we know the answer

Post of the year IMO. Love that movie.

Thanks makes a lot of sense. What doesn't add up for me is I can't believe Gruden would string along people, important people in the business with no intention of taking the job. He is too smart to not realize that it wouldn't turn out good. JMO

I honestly think you're getting me all wrong. Coasty, I truly enjoy your posts and in no way want to sway your mind, if it's made up. I think you're a wonderful poster, and though this account doesn't reflect it, I've been reading your contributions for awhile

If you read what I wrote initially, I'm basing a LARGE percentage of my (biased) narrative around what they provided, because...no ifs or buts, it was way more factual than anything else that has come out.

Since then, I'm trying my best to be respectful towards them, while disagreeing with their current stance. It's a conundrum on my part. How do you stop believing the source that's provided the framework for your story up until now?

It's hard to justify, let alone prove, and in no way do I have any sort of credibility to outright try and pull people away from them. Like I said from the getgo, I have no inside information. My opinion is mostly forged from what happens after the fact. If someone wants a guy to predict the future, I AM NOT THAT GUY.

I just think, honestly, that this story is bigger than even the most hardcore Gruden fans want to admit. This is a story that will change the mold of college football for years, will make headlines for weeks, and even had a 23 year vetted professional journalist double-fact-checking longtime friend sources just to get immediately smear-campaigned the next day.

For those reasons, I'm choosing not to believe what the OG's are hearing anymore. Several of them were wavering daily anyway, and that's not me calling them liars, but I strongly believe that a strong foundation of their information outlet HAS to be tied to the same information outlet that is feeding the AD vague press releases and the non-committal ESPN shoot-downs. Something has to give. Either we have one of the most loose-lipped inner circles in one of the biggest deals in NCAA history, or....more likely, those with some legit connections are being manipulated just like the rest of us by the really, really high-higher-ups, because they know the danger of this story breaking too fast.

Again, you don't have to agree with me or my crazy theory. It's something I've come up with in the last two days, admittedly, but please don't paint me as a guy doing it for attention or try to discredit the folks that have kept me glued to these forums for over 3 weeks now. There's just a lot of craziness and trolling going on right now, and I initially wanted to post my thread for an alternative for folks who still had faith, but weren't quite sure to make of anything. I stand behind my reasoning, but that doesn't mean I expect anyone else to.

I have seen this as well.... I hope I have not come off wrong... I poste din answer to Bruin a little while ago... I never type like I think....LOL

I agree with a lot of your thoughts and can only hope you are not trolling us...as you said you will be gone when it is over

I think he is an attention whore but he could have had every intention early on to take this job but as it closer to go time he got cold feet. It's certainly possible he changed his mind and did initially really want the job

- TFP posts another article where sources in the UTAD are now sayingg that Gruden has pulled his name out of running

The TFP article said that other outlets report unnamed sources in the athletic department said Gruden pulled his name. The quote the TFP got from the UTAD said they were not going to talk about it.

So I find it interesting Gruden pulled his name from something he wasn't interest in. His agent said he never had any interest and that he hasn't ever been contacted. So, why pull your name from consideration when you never put it out for consideration? And why would the UTAD's office say this?

Again, the governor distanced himself for a reason and its my belief that he knows there will be a little backlash in the state over the $$$.

Sorry for the long post............

This whole time-line thing makes no sense to me. Hart was smugly confident at the press conference. He had just fired his head coach and was joking with the reporters. Then this......

Thursday
- TFP break story about Gruden to Tennessee and UTAD declines to comment

Friday
- Hart and Gilbert spotted at a private jet building - discussion was that they were interviewing Fedora, Strong, or Golden
- Fedora turns down interview and was spotted at the NCHSSA state football championships
- Fisher tells the Jacksonville Times-Union that he has not been contacted by UTAD
-Charlie Strong sidesteps questions about his job status next year
- Evan Woodbery talks with Bob LaMonte who dismisses the story

Saturday
- @Jason_Higdon - tweets repeatedly that Charlie Strong has not interviewed on Friday or Saturday
- TFP posts another article where sources in the UTAD are now saying that Gruden has pulled his name out of the search

Sunday
- Hart to interview Gundy today per Hubbs and Rucker
- OSU AD releases a statement that he has not given permission fo us to talk to Gundy

Monday
- Hart to interview Fisher in NY

Three big things jump out at me.

First, we are either going rogue on this coaching search and bypassing other AD's or we are not interviewing these guys. We can't just ignore protocol.

Second, why send Evan Woodbery, who was hired in August 2012, to interview Bob LaMonte? The biggest story in UT's recent history and you send a kid who looks like he just started shaving.

Third, why the string of un-named sources in the UTAD that are involved in the TFP article but then on Friday Jimmy Stanton declines to comment? Doesn't make sense to me to "No comment" on this s h i t storm.

I'm just confused about all of this. I tried to ignore twitter and stick to newspaper or university sources but I can't wrap my head around this.

Anyone else think they can?

My thoughts to a tee.. posted earlier my findings from a close friend employed at UT. This is not over!!

Here is my post from YESTERDAY that got buried, just wanted to re-post it:

"OK..No one can convince me that Hart just started the coaching search and that he has been sitting on his rear doing nothing for the last couple weeks..From what I heard, he was at the men's basketball game last week relaxing and taking it easy..Think about it, if he didn't have his man in the bag, don't you think he would would have been all over the place trying to get a coach locked up and ready to sign?

I think Gruden received his last payment from TB on Nov.29th or 30th..The way I understand if he takes a coaching job before the payments are complete, then he doesn't receive said payment..Can't blame him for waiting on that because he was fired from TB so he deserves every penny that comes his way.

Then there's the MNF factor..He could be waiting to finish out the season on Dec.17th which is in Nashville..Coincidence..I think not..Then again this may not be a factor at all..Just throwing in my :twocents:."

Just think it's too soon(no pun intended) to throw in the towel..I'm in the minority but that's ok I can understand how others feel.
