Anyone expect the Dodgers to sign Andruw Jones or make any other moves this off season?

I'd love to bottle some Hershiser from that 88 squad. He was one bad man to finish the year and the baddest man throughout the playoffs.

Kirk Gibson's limp around the bases HR still gives me chills when I see it. One of the more dramatic finishes to World Series game.

Kirk Gibson's limp around the bases HR still makes me want to throw something through my TV.

It's all good though. The green and gold still have more overall World Series titles.

If you count the Philly days they do but not Oakland vs. LA. I'm surprised the Brooklyn Dodgers didn't win more than 1 title.

of course. they're still the Athletics franchise.

It takes some special work to have the greatest and worst manager of all time statistically.

I'm still waiting for all this talent like Matt Kemp and James Loney to breakout. Every year I hear these same names as untouchable top prospects but how long until they do something? I don't think they should trade the farm system away but they need to make smart trades from time to time and deal some prospects for proven talent.

Well, here it is half a year later and the same problems around the Dodgers. They're afraid to deal prospects even though they need a power hitter worse than any other team in baseball. Another thing, who the hell is the trainer, I have never seen a team that has more injuries and it happens every year. I still my Dodgers though.

Sorry, the Nationals have had more injuries this year. Far and away.

I don't follow the Nationals but I checked their injury report compared to the Dodgers and I have to disagee that it's that much worse. Good thing for the Dodgers is that they're only a game out of first and a lot of these players are getting healthy again.

I remember where I was.

11 years old, at the one of the last drive in movie theatres around, at the Rodeo swap meet. We were about to watch a double header of Alien Nation and Die Hard. Not 5 seconds after we turned the radio on, Kirk Gibson came up to bat.

Chills....

I want to change this thread title to the 2008 World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers. :)

It's funny how things change after reading my first post in this thread about Andruw Jones. Looks like they landed him alright, what a waste of money he is.

Well, my Dodgers are out now so congrats to the Phillies. I am very happy with how the Dodgers played and hope they can get back to the playoffs next season. I don't know who to pull for now, the Phillies because they are NL or the Rays (assuming they beat Boston) because they are the underdog. It would be cool to see Charlie Manuel manage a World Series winner.
