I normally follow the offseason pretty closely but life has been a bit crazy this summer so I am playing catch up. Plus, Tennessee has been under the radar all summer, which is not a bad thing.

Anyone care to briefly cover the highlights, lowlights, and major storylines for those of us looking forward to kick off in three weeks?

Worley will start. Has had his ups and downs but will start.

Peterman is shocking the world.

Dobbs........ no s'much

Hurd is a monster

Barnett is a monster apparently

Lane, Maggit, AJ are playing serious leadership roles

The Berry twins are not their brother

Josh Smith has apparently done a 180 and will see some serious PT again this year

Guardians of the Galaxy was wonderful

That's the jist of it.

Barnett is gonna be very good player for UT.

As far as the Berrys IIRC both stated as much in an interview a few weeks ago.

No embarrassments involving water guns, cheeseburgers, weed, co-eds, rec sports, thrown beer bottles or drunken driving.

Not sure how much of the offseason you missed, so I'll go all the way back.

* We signed three of our four target players on JUCO signing day (OT Dontavius Blair, WR Von Pearson, and DT Owen Williams, with Davonte Lambert flipping to Auburn at the last minute).

* We signed 32 of our 35 commitments in the 2014 class, losing OL Orlando Brown, LB Jerome Dews, and DL Cory Thomas. Two players in the class, Michael Sawyers and Jashon Robertson, were poached from Vandy after James Franklin resigned. There were 14 EE's who participated in spring practice.

* Walk-on (since awarded a scholarship) Jacob Gilliam displaced Dontavius Blair as the first-team OT. EE Coleman Thomas is the other first-team OT. Current first-team OL: Gilliam, Marcus Jackson, Mack Crowder, Kyler Kerbyson, and Thomas. Replacing all starting o-linemen and d-linemen is a chief concern going into 2014.

* The O&W Game had some good and bad moments. The defense struggled, giving up long runs to quarterbacks. Josh Malone shined.

* Several members of the defense were involved in a minor underage drinking incident, though most charges were dropped, and it did not lead to any dismissals.

* Riley Ferguson quit the team.

* All non-EE's made it to campus, though Chris Weatherd appears to have just barely made it on his last attempt.

* 2015 recruiting: shaping up to be as stellar as the 2014 class. Lots of fighting on VN over Jones giving a scholarship to under-the-radar QB Quinten Dormady over elite dual-threat Torrance Gibson. Our highest-ranked recruit, Kahlil McKenzie, has been lighting up camps all summer, and committed to UT in July amid great fanfare and a thread full of PMS-y Volnation'ers angry that his live announcement had been delayed an hour or so.

* Three Vols were drafted in the NFL Draft: Ja'Wuan James (1st round), Zach Fulton (6th), and Daniel McCullers (6th). Tiny Richardson noticeably went undrafted, but signed a free agent contract.

* 2014 DT/OL Charles Mosley broke his leg in a car accident, and will miss the season. Cody Blanc tore his Achilles in Fall Camp, and will miss the season.

*EE CB Emmanuel Moseley apparently entered at 145 pounds, but is now pushing 180, and has been praised for his speed.

*Pig Howard left the team for "personal issues", but returned to the team this summer.

*Worley and Dobbs were praised for their performances at quarterback camps.

*Jordan Williams has moved from DE to DT. Curt Maggitt has moved from LB to DE. Justin Coleman has moved from CB to Nickel

*Quarterback struggles early in Fall Camp led to some panic attacks on Volnation. Nathan Peterman and Josh Smith, and to some extent Devrin Young, are doing unexpectedly well. Derek Barnett, Dewayne Hendrix, Aaron Medley, and Dillon Bates are among the freshmen receiving ample praise thus far.

Last off-season we had the Saban speech in Athens, TN culminating in boycotts of Athens by many posters on here. Any word on if the economy of Athens has suffered?

We haven't had any entertainment like that this year.

Well if people have stopped purchasing mayfield products, then yes the Athens economy is hurting. However mayfield is about as Tennessee as UT football so I doubt people stopped just because Saban spoke in Athens.

It caused quite the outrage on here last year.

Just to add to this, Rajion Neal showing out for Green Bay in the pre season
