Another class-action suit filed by former players about the NCAA using their likenesses without them receiving any compensation...

Class-action suit filed vs. NCAA over use of players' likenesses - USATODAY.com

calling for this one to grow too.

I don't think anything big is going to come out of either of these cases individually, but I worry we are going to start seeing alot more of these build until the NCAA has to do something...

this one complaining both about dvds using their images and complaints similar to Keller's complaints about EA's games (apparently that one's still pending too)

I'm no lawyer, but this one sounds like it could have legs. At least, more so than the video game-based lawsuit last year.

This is dumb.

What's dumb is that collegiate athletics is an industry worth billions of dollars which enriches everybody except the players who make it possible. Urban Meyer can make $4 million a year, but Tim Tebow can't even go out and get a part-time job to earn some spending money.

I went to UTK on an academic scholarship that not only covered tuition, room & board, books, etc., but also paid me a little extra. It's stupid that student-athletes can't get the same.

I'm pretty sure that he can get out and work, he just has to actually earn the money he gets. He can't "work" for a car dealership, but not do anything and be paid for it.
