He is so emotional at this point because the clock was at 3 seconds, if anyone on UT line jumps its a 10 second runoff...and we lose...with no timeouts in his pocket to wave the penalty...He said this in a presser this week...great job for the poise of the line.

I think that picture was taken just after we made the field goal. I watched a replay of the game, and they showed him sitting like that for several seconds after the game ended.

Is it really a runoff if they jump on the FG? I wouldn't think so because the clock is already stopped. But, it may be. I think the NFL rule is that there is only a runoff when the clock is still moving.

It looked like he was about to cry when the kick went through, but people got in front of him and blocked the view. Personally, I love the emotion and how much he cares. I think he cares so much for the sake of the players, former programs, and fans; not just for his own career ambitions. I find that refreshing.

I think you are right. The intent of the rule is to prevent a team from stopping the clock by committing a penalty. IF the clock is already stopped then it should happen. But knowing the NCAA rules committee I'm not sure they wrote it that reasonably.

Now, what is this board going to do if he plays Bama close and wins out over Missou and begins to get mentioned for other openings? Will everbody say "Butch got and is gone"?

I'm pretty sure this is correct. I was at the USCe game in '07. Lincoln missed the 42 yd fg as time would've expired, but the false start negated the miss and there was no clock runoff. The ending of that game was awesome...

Butch is not going anywhere. He said himself that this his dream job. I know that we are going to enjoy where we are getting ready to be in terms of the SEC and CBJ and co know that as well. We will be back to the old UT

Rule wasn't changed until after the Music City Bowl in 2010 where UNC got the benefit.

I really think the emotion he is showing has more to do with his love for the players and how long they have waited for something like us and deserved it.
